2014-2015 Minnesota State University, Mankato Season Thread: Shipping up to Boston?

Re: 2014-2015 Minnesota State University, Mankato Season Thread: Shipping up to Bosto

Wow! First time I've seen MSU-M this year and they are a fantastic team. Great game last night & best of luck the rest of the year.

Congrats Mavs on a big win and a great season so far. I think a lot of us non Mav fans are pleased to see your success (and of other WCHA teams too).

But I hope you've shed that awful soccer cheer. You're legit hockey now. :)

Well, that was a bad loss. Did they think they had the tournament won once they beat the Gophers?

I don't know what to think of that game last night! Was it the emotion and craziness of Friday's game that emptied their tanks? Was it an amazing game by Bemidji? Running in to a hot goalie?

I think it was a perfect storm. Well, here is to ripping off another 9 game unbeaten steak!

I think last night was a letdown spot, but one that elite teams can get through. Shows there is still room for growth mentally. BSU needed this weekend badly and they played excellent hockey. Sometimes hockey happens this way, unfortunately. Better now than in March though.

Realistically if we were going to drop a game like that, BSU in a non conference game was the best scenario.

It is extremely hard to remain focused for 60 minutes every night a game is played. I think MSU-M does as good a job as I've seen this year staying focused and playing the whole game. Pretty minor setback...

I am hoping to come from out of town and watch the MTU-MSU game at the end of February. Does then Verizon Center sell out or is it easy to get tickets at game time? Thanks.

We sold out the Duluth game to start the year, but since then, seats have been available. Last night's game, for instance, was around 4300 in an arena that seats a little over 5000.
That said, if we're both still atop the conference, that may well be a sellout

I went to the Arizona State club hockey game last night because my sister's friends were playing for Arizona. The arena that they will be playing their first year is extremely small and has a ceiling of maybe 20 feet. I think I remember someone saying it can hold just over a 1000 people. There was definitely that many people There last night. Passionate fans which is good!

Another huge sweep. This team is **** good. Sky is the limit. Hope they can keep it together and keep it rolling all the way to Boston.

I think the loss to BSU may turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

Because of that, I was a little concerned about this weekend, but this may have been their best 2 games of the year.

They really did look terrific this weekend. I'm finally starting to overcome my normal negative thinking and believe MavHockey14's comment that the sky is the limit. Keep it going, boys!

BTW, how weird was the Ferris "Schempp Trick"? One goal for him in each of the four games with us, and no goals for anyone else

Re: 2014-2015 Minnesota State University, Mankato Season Thread: Shipping up to Bosto

The depth on this team is remarkable. LaFontaine has been playing one game a weekend, Stepan scratched at times, etc. NHL draft pick and a 100+ career point guy sitting in the stands watching their team continue winning. Just insane.

Re: 2014-2015 Minnesota State University, Mankato Season Thread: Shipping up to Bosto

And the depth got deeper with the return of Jon Jutzi.

We are better with him back in the lineup.

Every time I listen to the Mavs on ktoe, I say thank you! We have an amazing play by play guy in Sully! Last year when he was out was almost unlistenable!

22 wins already. This is insane. We are so dominant against so many teams. At the point now where it's time to just enjoy this ride. One way or the other, it's gonna be over before we know it.

I also don't want to underestimate the crowds this weekend. 3900+ and a sellout Saturday night? Against UAA?!?! The community is really getting behind hockey and the Mavs. So freaking awesome.
