2014-2015 Minnesota State University, Mankato Season Thread: Shipping up to Boston?

Re: 2014-2015 Minnesota State University, Mankato Season Thread: Shipping up to Bosto

I think he meant to watch the Mavericks, but not entirely sure.:o

Because it appears GFM always likes to be informed, my mind immediately jumped to him wondering if the Nooks were bad as their record. Brain fart on my part. Never mind my comment, I guess I’m just a little too frustrated at my teams inconsistent performance, and it shows.

Notwithstanding, the Nooks have the skill and speed to give you guys a good game if they play a complete game. Maybe two. Hope we catch you guys a little over confident. Should be a good series.

I do like being informed. I'm not sure that I'd have the time to go back and watch old games, but I might while I'm waiting for new funding on my contract. And MavHockey14 is right about wanting to sneak a peek at this weekend's games (although I am probably going to get vetoed).

Just checked to see how Jake Jaremko's season is going after I saw he scored on Twitter, and he is putting up some impressive numbers.

10-21-31 in 11 games with a couple big games in there

6 assist game and a 3g and 4a game

Hopefully we see him sooner rather than later.

Jon jutzi joining back up with the team. Is registered for classes and practicing per shane. Nice to have him back.

Heh. ;) I enjoy seeing the WCHA teams up top, but having talked with Hastings a bit, it's nice to see people that I feel like I know a little doing very well. Congrats on #2 — go make it #1!

Is Hastings really the real deal? It seems in 3 seasons he has this program at the top! Or is it just because they have a lot of top talent all of a sudden? Or was the talent always there, and Hastings made a go of it?

Pretty impressive whatever it is! Any thoughts would be appreciated as I didn't follow them closely until last season. Thanks!

All of the above. Hastings is the real deal and makesee players better. Look no further than Eriah Hayes. The kids went from an undisciplined kid with flashes of brilliance into a consistent, lethal scorer in 1 year.

Hastings certainly didn't have a bare cupboard though. The upper class men are still Jutting recruits. Jutting just wasn't able to keep his players in line and constantly improving. Consider the 05-06 year, we had 2 nhl players in backes and carter and had last year's ahl mvp in morin on the team and finished in 7th place out of 10 in the conference. We've always had good talent, it just never showed up on the ice.

He is following that up with some darn good underclassmen though too. His recruiting is just as good as his coaching. He is what has changed more than anything else with the program...yes, his hiring is much bigger than the conference shakeup.

Somebody at Mankato should talk to your marketing people about what "third-rate" means. :)

If they are newbies, you are right that they probably need educated on the phrase. If they've worked there for more than 3 years, they know what "third-rate" means, along with "second tier" and lots of other unfavorable terms.

Hastings is fantastic for all the reasons that Bale stated.

Shhhh! Dammit, somebody will hire him away.

You know, he strikes me as the kind of guy that would stick around. Maybe I'm wrong. I bet that, as long as he has success and MSU doesn't cheap out like UMD did on their women's coach, he might stick for a bit. This league has a lot of great coaches, but the truly elite jobs are few and far between. I just can't see many of our guys jumping, say, out east.

This team just continues to roll along, picking up 2 more big road points! Nice to get a solid win out of a long break!

Got another two wins this weekend. Only one loss in the last 13 games! I know Lake Superior isn't too great, but it is nice seeing them staying hot after the holiday break.

Next week is Ferris State, then the North Star college cup after that.
Any maverick fans headed to the north star college cup??

i will be attending in 2 weeks and hoping for a BSU and MSU championship game.

Stephon played really well in the 2nd tonight when Lake State was putting on some serious pressure.

Hopefully the maverick fans give a decent showing. I have a feeling there will be plenty of gopher fans there.

Looks like the Mavericks are back to #1 in the pairwise rankings!!

#1 for the first time in history. Crazy and simply amazing.

Congrats on the #1 ranking. Hopefully it lasts longer for you than it did for Tech. Best of luck until late February. :)
