Re: 2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

Cornell and UMD tied at 1 after 1. UMD has the edge in shots on goal 14-12.

Re: 2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

Cornell 1 - UMD 1 after one.

Cornell (Jenner) with a PP goal just as the 'Dog penalty expired about half way thru the period.

UMD responded about 2 minutes later with a gorgeous goal by Hickel teaming up with Huertas for some high speed skating and passing.

UMD leads Cornell 3-2 after two. SOG 27-19 in favor of the Bulldogs.

Re: 2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

Cornell 2 - UMD 3 after two. SOG 27-19 for the 'Dogs.

Fulton for Cornell with a breakaway 5 hole goal.

Re: 2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

And UMD wins 7-2. Cornell was not great for stretches in the first two period, but they were downright terrible in the third.

Re: 2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

UMD beats Cornell 7-2... SOG 41-27 UMD...Ashleigh Brykaliuk extends her scoring streak to 7 games with 13 points over that span. This game was really all Bulldogs all the time. I would say it's by far the most impressive win and performance of the season for UMD.

BC 3
UConn 1

BU 1
Harvard 1

Why is Yale wasting their time playing a DIII team?

Isn't Yale just a glorified D3 team? If they are playing d3 games, why not play the top ranked? Are they afraid? It doesn't matter who you are playing, 13-0 is classless!

Since Mercyhurst is documented to have the weakest strength of schedule among all teams, does that make them a glorified D3 team? Why not play the top ranked? Are they that afraid?

Yale is playing #1 ranked Boston College on Tuesday. Somehow I doubt BC will stop scoring if given the opportunity, and I don't think anybody, including Yale, would expect or want them to.

IMO, the only thing in such situations that is classless, would be if a team in those conditions continued to skew heavy minutes to its Olympians/top players despite the score. Such situations are the opportunity to provide playing time to players who might ordinarily not dress, and more favourable minutes than typical to 3rd and 4th lines. Nevertheless, there have historically been some coaches known to use such lopsided games instead as opportunities primarily to pad the stats of potential Kaz nominees.

How does Mercyhurst get dragged into this debate?!
Not to mention, that makes no sense. If playing a weak schedule and winning makes you a D3 school, then why not include BU and QU??

Gophers 4, Mavs 0 and it wasn't even that close.

Next up on Monday is St. Cloud State in the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Women's Face-Off Classic at Braemar Arena in Edina.

Re: 2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

Cornell 0 - UMD 0 after one. SOG Cornell 7- UMD 5.

Black looking refreshingly sharp...two of the first three shots on her were breakaways.

Fast game.
