2014-15 College Football Part II: SEC vs World

Re: 2014-15 College Football Part II: SEC vs World

No, you don't. Sorry.

if the conferences are going to hold them, they have to deal with the consequences.

an 8 team playoff is not going to wash with 4 SEC teams, 2 Big10 and a big 12 with some mid-major guaranteed in if they finish in the top 10 of the final computer rankings.

you have to win something to get in the playoffs.

christ, even the carolina panthers get in for winning the south :p

I enjoyed the heck out of yesterday's Badger game for various Badger-centric story lines. In a day, I'll be over it.

I'd rather be striving each year to make a top 16 than go to a bowl every season that may or may not be interesting.

They could still have the Who-Gives-A-****-Except-For-The-Teams-Involved Bowl(s) for teams that don't make the top 16.

true. espn will need programing to fill the 5 nights a week that don't have playoff games. it'll just be a sugar bowl with UL-Lafayette vs. Central Michigan :D

They boxed themselves in this year by doing it that way. If they had gone with a straight Math formula then MAYBE TCU would have gotten in and it would have given them an excuse to leave FSU out.

People would have SCREAMED bloody murder for the smoke filled room like they do every year with the hockey tournament. And the screaming would have been louder then it is for hockey. It actually would have been hysterical.

That's why I love the dichotomy. Here we have the smoke filled room and everyone's screaming math. Well, smoke filled doesn't put TCU in in front of Baylor, it doesn't put them in in front of undefeated FSU, and it doesn't put them in in front of OSU after what they did winning the Big 10 and utterly destroying Wisconsin to do it.

In fact the smoke filled room argues that the Big 12 title was won and lost in the Baylor TCU game and TCU lost.

Personally I'd love it if it were just 4 teams forever and straight math. It would be more fun, more entertaining, and the whining would be more fun to listen to.

I'm with you all the way... although who's complaining about the current system for hockey? And can we fire said person from a cannon?

They'd have to work Minnesota in there as well... :D

I think this has been my favorite part of the whole BCS/Playoff transition.

BCS: "Why are we letting computers decide who plays? Computers can't watch the games, they don't have an eye test. We need people who actually watch the games to decide this."
Playoff: "Why are we letting people decide this? They have no idea what they're doing. Oh, they "watched some film" on Alabama to make them #1? Obviously they don't know football."
