2014-15 College Football Part II: SEC vs World

Re: 2014-15 College Football Part II: SEC vs World

I do like how Army has a player named Edgar Poe in this game at the Ravens' stadium in Baltimore, MD.

Watching this game- the term bliz has kind of a different meaning for these guys.

Are the Heisman ballots made public? I would love to know which 10 SEC voters left Mariota off their ballots entirely.

They should be. People who obviously don't have an objective vote should be removed from the system.

Does it really matter that much? based on the general professional carreers that the trophy winners have, being a heisman winner is not all that important, except for egos.

Thinking ahead for a moment, if we were at an 8 team playoff right now and the quarterfinals were going to happen this weekend we would have the following matchups:

Alabama/Michigan State
Oregon/Mississippi State
Fla State/TCU
Ohio State/Baylor

Alot more interesting than what we currently have. I believe that neither Alabama or Oregon would be favored by as much as they are vs their current opponents. Alabama maybe????

Regardless of what happens at the next level, winning the Heisman is a huge honor. The prestige that comes with it is one thing, but you are part of a rather excusive brotherhood after you've won. It does matter.

Speaking of the Playoff. I was watching The U Part 2 and they were covering the 2000 season where Oklahoma played Florida State in the BCS game even though Miami beat FSU and both had 1 loss. Completely glossing over the fact, that at #4 was Washington, with one loss, who beat Miami that season!

That season is the embodiment of the how much the college football system sucks.

To the winners, sure. But to the spectators so much that we need to have a vote where we know all the votes? No. It's already become a popularity for on field events only event- if the votes were open, that would be worse.

Leave it closed as it is.
