2013 WCHA Final Five: end of hockey's great tournament

Re: 2013 WCHA Final Five: end of hockey's great tournament

Can Burd and I stay at your place?

Got parking for my team of deer and his wagon?

Chez Rube does not allow people of your ilk to visit. Anyway, I'm staying at a hotel near the X with some friends. :)

Depends on who's playing in the game. If it's UND-MN? Start emptying your bank account now. If it's DU-CC? People will probably pay you to take their tickets. :D
If the standings stay as they are now, MN and UND would play in the semifinals if UND wins in their game Thursday.

To me, losing what this tournament has become is the biggest travesty of the reshuffling. This tournament has become the hockey weekend of the year for many of us WCHA fans. Taking weekdays off to go tailgate behind Dairy Queen at 9am, frying up bacon for everyone and beer darts. There really is nothing better. I certainly hope that most of the nWCHA/B1G fans continue on after this season with the rotation but I know it won't be the same after this season.

Agreed whole heartedly. This has been a tradition like no other for my father and I. We've been doing the Final Five as our annual weekend together since 1999.

Amen. Dirty and I establish a new tradition in Minneapolis. What that tradition is...we do not know yet.

Look, I don't care who you cheer for, the Final Five is coming to an end. This is an incredible weekend, and there's not a conference tournament like it in college hockey. The WCHA tournament will continue on, but it will be NOTHING like the current Final Five. Neither will the NCHC or B1G tournament. The atmosphere has grown into something special that wont be duplicated.

This. Just this.

Yes, there will be a WCHA tournament. Regardless of what it's called, it will NOT be the Final 5 as we all know it. Will the WCHA survive? Of course. Atlantic Hockey has survived, so there's no way WCHA doesn't.

I already suggested peeing in every elevator we can find but you didn't seem too keen on it.

Don't worry biddy and Dirty, once the light rail from St. Paul to Minneapolis is done, we can all continue to tailgate in St. Paul and you guys can just hop on the train over to that basketball arena in Minneapolis.

We have sheep? Sweet! If only your program was worthy enough to be one of them.
I must say, it will be a pleasure to visit the best rink in college hockey next season. And the trip to Grand Forks later in the season in December should be pretty nice too.

Since I have not kept up on its' progress at all, is there a light rail stop by Ridder Arena so the WCHA fans will be able to join us as well?

J.D. Hoyts. Dirty is paying because he'll stop wasting money on game worn ECHL jerseys.

A Mario Lamoureux Ontario Reign jersey is not a waste of money! He's the leading rookie scorer in the ECHL!
