2013 "I was screwed by the NCAA" thread...

Re: 2013 "I was screwed by the NCAA" thread...

Once again your ignorance is showing. Except for the last four (?) years or so, the ECAC West has always sent their conference champions. And they have done absolutely squat in the national tournament until Neumann came along.

Makes me think the conference has been extremely overrated for the past two decades....

Hope that suit you are wearing is flame resistant!!! The conference is full of very good teams and do not have bottom feeders that every other conference has. That, combined with feasting on some of the other conferences cellar dwellers (not 100%, I know, but still, look at the schedules) and you always have a strong SOS...

As a hockey fan, that National Championship game in Lake Placid is the best hockey game I've ever seen in person. It was an honor to have worked that game.

Absolutely, it took two months for my fingernails to grow back. :D

The Norwich/Elmira quarterfinal a week earlier was a close second.

I'm not sure the 'ol ticker can take many more games like those - but they are why I love D3 college hockey!

Re: 2013 "I was screwed by the NCAA" thread...

I know, I know. It's just that with the exception of Neumann in 2009, the current ECAC-W teams have a rich history of doing little more than absolutely nothing in the National Tournament.

Hobart has been to the national tournament four times...and made the final four twice. I don't believe that quite matches your description of a "rich history of doing little more than absolutely nothing in the National Tournament". ;)

And for the record, you have not (and will not) read one complaint from me about Hobart not getting in this year...

One teams "whatever" is another teams "wow!"

Re: 2013 "I was screwed by the NCAA" thread...

Joking aside, I do think Hobart is an outstanding program and would have had no problem if they received a Pool C.

But I must admit, I do have mad respect for what Middlebury accomplished in the 90's and first half of the 00's. How could any D3 hockey fan not?

Re: 2013 "I was screwed by the NCAA" thread...

Those were some truely great Middlebury teams. I wonder what the reason was that Coach Beaney got away from recruiting French kids?? They were fast and had pinpoint passing along with excellent goaltending. I always said every team should get themselves a couple of those Quebecer's for their power-play !!

Re: 2013 "I was screwed by the NCAA" thread...

Sooooo.....why does MASCAC get an AQ with just seven members? Hate to ask lest someone call me newbie3, but there's nothing obvious in the MASCAC page detailing why any exceptions owul be made.

There's no exception needed, 7 members is the requirement for Pool-A.
