2013 Golf Season - Does it leave you scratching?

Re: 2013 Golf Season - Does it leave you scratching?

So I maybe purchasing new golf shoes in the very near future as I may have lost my previous pair in my latest move, but I am wondering what are your guy's thoughts on spike vs spikeless for shoes?

@danjenkinsgd: When Tiger shot 18 under in the 1997 Masters, Augusta was 6,925 yards. Now it's 7,435.

Awesome back 9 by Rickie and then sticks it in at 6'8" I believe on the 4th playoff hole (#17, 1st hole of sudden death)to win, excellent finish to The Players

Fowler owned number 17.

I pop on golf once in a while, and when I saw the logjam this afternoon, I knew I had to tune in later to see a close finish. And it was an amazing finish.

I make sure to watch the 4 majors and the Players. Going into the final round today 30 players were within 5 strokes of the leader. Amazing as was the finish.

It does help that some friends are into golf, and playing Tiger on the PS3 is a bonus. I am not a fan nor a hater of any player; I like watching the game/strategy on approaches. That sort of thing.

Re: 2013 Golf Season - Does it leave you scratching?

Other than the occasional fundraiser, I didn't play until 6 years ago, and I would not have taken the time to watch golf before then. Now that I have an appreciation for the game, I enjoy watching PGA events. Knowing how much small things matter and what a head-game it is, the Sunday drama is particularly good. And that's a little strange, because I've survived cancer twice in that time, and a lot of things that were big and medium sized things to me before are now small things.

Except beating the gophers, of course. The North Star of priorities.

I used to hack around during my teen years, I just never even had the basic skill. I can putt alright, thanks to non-gimmick mini-golf courses, but that's about it. I think my best on a par 72 was about 40 over (and that may be generous).

Masters ticket application email just showed up in my inbox. In the lottery, again. One of these years...

Re: 2013 Golf Season - Does it leave you scratching?

Would anyone here support a women's Masters held right after Augusta reopens in the late summer?

Re: 2013 Golf Season - Does it leave you scratching?

couldn't make a putt today. i'll bet the total made putt footage of my 18 holes was 20 inches :D

uneventful 79

Husband and wife with a near-impossible feat.

http://www.breitbart.com/sports/201...e-hit-back-to-back-hole-in-ones-on-same-hole/

For the first time in history a husband and a wife, while playing golf together, teeing it up on the same hole, playing as a twosome, shot consecutive holes in one.

Odds makers consider the chances of this occurrence almost incalculable. The National Hole-in-One Association makes a stab at it, rendering it at about 52,000,000 to 1.

Been watching the NCAA D-I golf championships.

I like the format and wish the Olympics would do this. For those not following, you play 54 holes and cut to the top 15 teams and any individuals within the top 50. You play an additional 18 holes (72 total) to determine the individual champion (gold/silver/bronze) and the top 8 teams. For stroke play you play 5 golfers but only count the 4 best scores each day.

Then the 8 teams go to match play to determine the team title.

Woods fires a smooth +13 today and is in dead last at the Memorial.

To the surprise of absolutely no one, Tiger declines to speak to the media after the round.

He's done. *sigh* what could've been....Great great golfer, but talk about burning out rather than fading away.

He's done dominating, I'll agree for sure - dude is 39 and injured easily. I know the injuries have taken their toll physically, and while everyone knows Tiger has an ironclad mental game, I think when your body doesn't work like it did, the mental game kicks in as well. Regardless, I suspect Tiger has another major in him, we just won't see it until we least expect it - like Jack in '86.
