Re: 2013 Golf Season - Does it leave you scratching?

Back on topic.
Got a call from Marriott. Can get 4 days / 3 nites @ Hilton Head (8/10 -> 3/20) at the Marriott Resort right next to the Palmetto Golf Club for $199. $200 more if I go in-season.

Tell me about Hilton Head. How's the golf if you're a 20 handicap? And, what's to do besides golf? Bringing the bride and she does not golf.

Spent a week there a couple of years ago, but did not golf. They do a great job of keep the development fairly invisible. If you and your wife like to bike, you'll really enjoy that.

Can you handle the time-share sales pitch...that is the question? I don't think they offer those packages unless you agree to have some very friendly and very persistent people talk to you like you were a drug smuggling suspect in a Turkish prison.

Played 18 in St Thomas, VI last week, lack of rain had course a little withered but still had fun.

One 90 minute spiel. I think I can endure it. I just have to have a big sign on my hand that says "NO!!". Also, She Who Must Be Obeyed has instructions to whup me upside the head if I appear to waver.

keep you fly undone and don't be bashful to let the turtle peek
if you are lucky enough to get a sales women, hit on her
if you get a man, and he's somewhat attractive - that's an option too

It's supposed to be 50's here for this first time all of March on Saturday. We could finally be inching closer to opening our club.

Our Head Pro emailed the staff today wanting to set up the schedule for next week. I told him I'll bring a snow shovel

I did one once, they went from "this is a great opportunity" to "well, maybe you just can't afford it" to "head over to the next room to get a free gift" where another guy put another pitch in. It is psychological warfare.

We know you can withstand it joe...be strong!

But if you do weaken and give in, keep us all in mind.

Mention that your banker has your checkbook, and he recommended something called "Chapter 8", whatever that is. See how short that sales pitch gets then.

"we just bought another vacation condo in west palm. with the prices falling off a cliff it was the smart thing to do. we really can't afford it, but hold swingers parties twice a week and collect a door fee to pay the monthly nut."

I'm in West Palm three times a month so I volunteer to check on it for you. In fact I was there yesterday.

:p

Sounds like we're aiming for April 15th. That would be a full 30 days later than last year.

i wish i could hope for april 15th with any confidence. luckily my big schedule doesn't really start until may :(

10 day forecast looks fairl warm and dry, so that's our goal. We could still get a foot of snow or more though; who knows.

Things won't pick up for us until May either.

Re: 2013 Golf Season - Does it leave you scratching?

I'd be confident about April 15th, if I couldn't look out my window and still see 2 feet of snow on the ground.
