2013 Golf Season - Does it leave you scratching?

Re: 2013 Golf Season - Does it leave you scratching?

On Sunday, Davis Love III became the 1st player to win on the ‪‎PGA Tour‬ in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and 2010s.

Wow. That's darn impressive. That kind of longevity in any sport/game that means anything is rather difficult.

Played Augusta on a simulator tonight after me and a buddy got stormed off a course after 6 holes.

Honestly, with this being my first time in a simulator, it was a pretty good time. Went +1 through amen corner, playing Members tees. That felt pretty good.

I played Wooden Sticks GC at the end of July. Twelve of the holes are "inspired" by famous holes, including Amen Corner. My son took a picture of my approach shot on 13 with the leaderboard behind the green. Even made par on the hole!

That looks pretty sweet.

I stuck my shot on #12 to 10', although the simulator wasn't simulating the swirling winds ;)

For anybody who hasn't done any simulator golf, I'd probably endorse it. Neat to "play" some famous courses but also getting the feedback on the swings.

A lovable nut. And a Irishman to boot!

NBC - please.

I would expect NBC would hire him since he's got his Golf Channel show

And so it came to pass. :D

David Feherty signed a contract with NBC Sports that will put him on the broadcast team with Johnny Miller, allow him to extend his popular ''Feherty'' series on Golf Channel and possibly lead to new ventures for golf's funnyman.

Played my best round of the year. Only two shots that went where no man has gone before. But the greens were a lot faster than the other county course and I had trouble guaging putts. Too many 3 putts. 12 over 47. Could have been a 39 if I had those 2 shots back and 3 putts.

BTW - can only play 9 holes as time demands at home prevent me being away for 5 hrs straight during the day.

Watching Solheim Cup. 2-2 after foursomes and we're in trouble in 4 ball.

Does anyone here play foursomes when they're out on the course? I'd love to try it when my son gets home in the spring.

Re: 2013 Golf Season - Does it leave you scratching?

I played a par three today. I thought it would be really easy. well boy was I wrong. T boxes were about 8 x 8.Maybe less than that. The greens were really tiny. Really, really tiny.
the distances ranged from 57 yds to 110. but hitting the greens was tough and I missed about half of them. Then of course I three putted a few. so overall very educational.

Should have left the diver in the bag. Left right short. Anywhere but long. But the 3 Hybrid and irons were on fire. Avgeraged 2 putts a hole.

+12 again for 9 holes.

I have almost stopped hitting the driver. I can hit a 3 wood almost as far and the accuracy is way better.

Those types of courses are certainly a good way to practice dialing in the shorter clubs.

So, what are the thoughts on the Solheim controversy? Yeesh. Americans probably should have asked to clarify, but generally you (as opponents/European team) shouldn't begin walking off the hole unless the hole is completed.

And also, for as good a year as Spieth has had, is Jason Day's now slightly better? Remarkable seasons by both, it's been some fun golf to watch.
