From that article you linked:

They do realize that Texas is in their footprint now, right?
You're asking that someone in the SEC be capable of understanding geography or having basic reading comprehension skills. Let's not set the bar too high, here.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the death of Leaders and Legends yet...

At least New Hampshire has its priorities straight...

Who is it in Minnesota? When they say football/basketball coach, that could be any one of like seven different people.

Interesting that in Connecticut the womens basketball coach is the highest paid.

It was Jim Calhoun until he retired last year. The new guy is just kind of a temp while they're in NCAA jail and isn't making as much.

For comparison:

That's only because the US and its college sports culture is wholly unique. Put the best soccer players in Europe between 18-23 (or 25 if we want to use hockey ages) on college teams and that'd end up horsing down all sorts of money also :p. To be fair to the US...in a lot of cases those high paid coaches return a profit for the school. Especially football. Not always of course, but there's certainly a case that spending big can often be a good investment for the school. Now that might suggest that societies' priorities are skewed, but it doesn't necessarily make it a bad move for the school.

Re: 2013 DI BCS Thread: Thorthu Thame ish bacth!

Kirk Ferentz is by far the highest paid in Iowa and while he generated profit for a self sufficient department, he went 4-8.

Notre Dame starting QB Everett Golson is no longer enrolled at Notre Dame. Rumor are flying that he was expelled for plagiarizing on a final exam.

if true, Brian Kelly would probably be peeling paint at 30 yards.

Should've had Te'o girlfriend take it for him.

It's true. He tweeted & confirmed it. Does he transfer to a FCS school and plays right away, transfer to an FBS school and sits, or turns pro?
Smart money would have him going FCS somewhere and at least playing out the year, unless he wants to do a year of CFL before he could go to the NFL. I'm not sure what the rules are for the CFL. Sitting for a year does nothing for him other than to let his skills drop off.

Re: 2013 DI BCS Thread: Thorthu Thame ish bacth!

Didn't harvard have a cheating scandal where players sat out a year but are expected to return and be eligible to play?
