In a position where I know staff, players and families members on both teams, current and past, believe me when I say, if you take off the jerseys, coaches jackets, etc., both teams are filled with tremondous young men and coaches who all work a tireless amount of hours to do their best as student atheletes and their mentors. Please let this incident rest, and move on.

One constant. Flagdude remains bat**** crazy and Hokydope is a tremendous liar who's knowledge is limited to Peewee hockey in Cranston. If we were all to ignore both of them as hard as that is), the board would be a much better place. Hokywimp.... refs report!!! hahaha. Come to a game at Union like I have asked you before and I will firmly plant that refs report down your throat! Sorry for the rant but so sick of this guys bs and lying.

Several of the better players on both teams likely played in the USHL, and they must think this is much ado about nothing. Watching college kids with full facial protection pushing on each other doesn't compare with 17-20 year olds with half shields brawling in front of 4,000 inebriated fans in Dubuque. While coaches throwing punches adds to the interest, it wouldn't get a mention in the Des Moines Register unless blood was drawn.

While NCAA institutions are held to a different standard than junior hockey franchises, taking a deep breath is in order.

Of all the posters in this thread, you think that I am the troll. Union did beat us, what the hell does that have to do with anything? Would have posted the same thing had we not played Union in the last decade. And I never called Union a dirty team or a dirty program. I said Bodie started this. How it started isn't relevant? So Archduke Franz Ferdinand's death isn't relevant to WWI then too. And I stand corrected... now one person not cheering for Union calls it 50/50. You're in the minority.

Remember, I'm a western fan and we don't care about EZAC teams.

After watching the video, it is pretty clear Bodie started the whole mess at the end of the game. I don't care if he was retaliating, it was just plain stupid. A cross check to the head/neck area of an opponent that blatant is usually considered intent to injure so he's **** lucky to only get the suspension he did. The fact that the Union AD handed out a suspension to Bennett before the ECAC shows class on the part of the Union Admin. I'm sure Bennett is not happy about his actions and will learn from it.

I don't have any valid interest in either team so I'm pretty neutral, but I place blame on both sides here. It takes two to tango.....

Personally, the fact that he was only suspended by the school for two games is quite surprising. Ohio State fired Woody freakin' Hayes after he touched a player from the other team. Trust me, the coach who went apes*t is no Woody Hayes.
