It was incumbent for SA and his staff to make every effort to recall his team from the ice and to stop them from joining into the fracas...He apologized. RB apologized. Union acted quickly with a two gamer for RB...We will see what the ECAC has to say...

Bringing up young people and moral issues is a little much....Both teams acted poorly in front of the youth...Get a grip...

RPI Is a joke and will be so for years. have not scored a goal in ncaa tourn play in over 27 years.

How cute! I love when RPI fans bring up the "good ol' days" of RPI hockey. Things have sure gone downhill since Adessa got run out of town for hurling the N-bomb at his own players. Let's face it the titles are nice but they don't matter anymore. I'm a Mets fan and I don't go shooting my mouth off about our ancient World Series rings.

I apologize to the fans of both schools here. I am the guilty party who brought up the National title and some of the great players RPI has had over the years. I consider myself fortunate to be old enough to remember seeing some great ECAC players in the past. Heck a lot of them had tremendous pro careers, but when I read someone calling RPI a 2nd rate program I was only trying to cite some of the great players they have had over the years. I have much respect for all the ECAC teams as they have provided me with some great memories over the years. I just don't belief its a fair assessment to call any ECAC team a 2nd rate program. We don't always get enough respect from others, we do not need an ECAC on ECAC hate debate.

I don't really want to get into this but I blew up the video and slowed it down. I am obvious a Union Fan but will try and be objective. Those of you who can download the YouTube video (mp4) into some video editiong software. I am using Vegas and Roxio. Will try to get the author to give me a copy. It looks to me that Higgs was skating towards Bodie. Bodie was stationary. Higgs turned away to look at the faceoff but turned his head back to face Brodie. He was squared up to Bodie. His skates and the helmet angle tell us this. All this while Higgs was not slowing down. That is when Bodie cross checked him hard in the face. Very Bad.

However, the RPI skaters that came off the bench never attempted to get to the goalie to congradulate him. They were heading straight for the Union Players. All of them. It was 10 on 3. If you start and stop the video you will see that there was no attempt by the RPI players at any time to move around the Union players and get to the goalie. They came off the bench for one purpose, to get into the fight. Please don't take my word for it. Download the video (mp4) and step through it frame by frame.

Here is a picture of the coaches in a happier time.

Did you analyze the Zapruder film that closely? He crossed check him in the neck. Case closed.

I also watched the tape in slow motion. The only blatant punches thrown I could see were #23 Higgs and #19 Zalewski, both should get suspensions. Bodie with the cross check will also get a game. Also to note, RPI cleared their bench and made no attempt to get to their goalie, they went right after Carr, Ciamipi, Vech, and Bodie. So no, RPI was not on the ice to celebrate with their goalie.

He's not taking a swing at Bubela, to imply otherwise is pushing propaganda. I didn't see anyone clamoring for Bubela to be banned for life when he caught the linesman Cooke with a punch during one of the scrums in November.
