I also watched the tape in slow motion. The only blatant punches thrown I could see were #23 Higgs and #19 Zalewski, both should get suspensions. Bodie with the cross check will also get a game. Also to note, RPI cleared their bench and made no attempt to get to their goalie, they went right after Carr, Ciamipi, Vech, and Bodie. So no, RPI was not on the ice to celebrate with their goalie.

Right. Bennett was actually trying to give Bubela a hug. It was just supposed to be a nice big group hug, that's all.

RPI hockey coach suspended for one game by ECAC
Looks like SA was suspended by the ECAC back in 2010 for criticizing the refs

i watched the video several times. not even remotely trying to do anything with a player. player was simply between him and the yapping lap dog ast and appert. unlike appert and the ast he played highest levels of pro hockey and was highly respected. was tough+ but never a cheap shot type

ALBANY, N.Y. -- ECAC Hockey today announced that Cornell head coach Mike Schafer has been suspended one game by the League as a result of recent post-game comments following the Cornell versus Rensselaer game Friday, March 13, 2009
"Based upon the action by the League, Coach Schafer will serve his suspension this evening (March 14) when Cornell hosts Rensselaer. The suspension assessed is in accordance with ECAC Hockey Policies and Procedures."

Its interesting. I am sure I don't have all the video but when you look at what is out there and you look at who is throwing the punches, its the RPI players #11 (at least 3) and #19 (at least 2). I hope the ECAC does its homework. I think they called it right 79 PIM RPI, 62 PIM UNION. Hitting means punching or "close fist". I did not see Bennett punch anyone. I saw him grab at people, push people. The only people I saw "throw punches" were RPI Players, but I am sure I don't have all of the video. Union players might have throw punches as well. I just didn't see it.

The biggest disparage is because your captain was involved in two of the altercations. He should have 15 tacked on.

you need some type of therapy. so his fist is approaching his head from 2 feet away and he misses? you should go back and follow the only sport you ever/never played, kickball at recess, until 2nd grade when they wouldn't let you play anymore.

Thats SA's fist and whatever we pay Bennett is not enough. When is Shirley Ann Jackson going to step up and suspend SA for sending the team out to brawl?? If you expect us to belive your BULL **** about the players going out to congraduate the goalie then you live in a fantasy world.

So this video makes it more clear that the guy in the suit who shoves Bennett and then hides behind the refs comes from the stands/tunnel area so he's either a scratch or a support staff member.

Finally figured out who the chicken**** is who comes out of the stands/hallway to shove Bennett and hide behind the refs after. It's Sam Mayasich, RPI's video coordinator. Hard to imagine Phil Cohn coming down from the stands to enter the fracas. Don't know how you would enforce it but if anyone needs a lengthy suspension it's that guy. Absolutely no reason for support staff to be involved in the fight.
