On the other side of the equation you have teams like Cornell stocked with mostly Canadians.

Well Good for BC and Harvard. They are US schools. They can recruit whoever they want and obviously they are winning...why should they go out of their way to bring in [and pay for] a bunch of Cannuckkks?

Not a "bunch" but Harvard has had three or four Canadians on their team for each of the past four years. And they have two new ones coming in for next season, when they look to have five on their roster.

I often remember, fondly, when just prior to the 2011-2012 season, one of the "experts" from north of the border mocked my posted optimism with the Gopher recruiting class (all Minnesota kids) asking with typical hostility and condescension "What makes you think an all Minny freshman contingent is going to work on the Women's side and position your team for a run for the cup? Just asking..."

Subsequently, this "expert" told me with great certainty that "Frost and Minnesota are at least three Canadians away from a NCAA Championship."

There's more amusement within that "discussion" but I digress. ;)

Don't mean nothin' but I knew it was horse apples then and I have a laugh at it from time to time, still. Just comes to mind when I read the USA / Canadian player recruitment stuff.

Whatever happened to your pal from Calgary? He just up and vanished in the middle of the night a year or so ago...freeing up a lot of your time. So much so, that you could fill that black hole with a part time job!

Sorry BB, I have no knowledge of the whereabouts of who you speak and am not planning on any effort to locate him. My latest part time job has been a fixture in my weekly responsibilities for over five years now post retirement.

My first question if your d 's earning are not derived because of her NCAA hockey what business is it of theirs. If it's financial aid money and not scholarship then isn't that only the academic institutions concern?

They finally got a defenseman. They only have 4 returning D next season, so Hudak better hope he gets someone in via regular decision or he has a forward who can drop back successfully or it is going to be a difficult year.

I do not know Ms. Korbs, but the link takes you to nothing now and the Dartmouth ED class is listed on the Dartmouth athletics website and she is not among them. Since the vast majority of Ivy League recruits are ED because that is when the coach has pull and regular decision admits are few and far between, it would appear that something happened in the commitment process here (whether on the part of the school or the player) - she changed her mind, admissions issue, etc.

My understanding is she did not apply early decision, and she is still headed to Dartmouth.

That's surprising - not sure why you would wait if you had committed and the coaches were on board. Maybe she committed after the ED application deadline. Be interesting to see how it turns out since Hudak did so well in ED this year - he got 5. Last year he only got 4 in ED (all forwards) and 2 RD (both defenseman). If she gets in RD, she will likely be the last on board. Hope it works out for her.
