2013-2014 D-I Scores and Results Updates Thread

If we got to rest up by playing half our season against the Lindenwoods of the world we would probably have an unfair advantage come playoff time too.
It would have to be a home game, because you can't travel to Lindenwood and still sleep in your own bed, which seems to be the priority for Boston teams. In fact, that may be why BC always loses in the FF semi -- "I miss home."

III)The east hasn't won a title yet because a season against all the tough eastern opponents is brutal and takes its toll on all of the teams. If we got to rest up by playing half our season against the Lindenwoods of the world we would probably have an unfair advantage come playoff time too.
You're sounding a bit desperate, maybe it's time for an Eastern NIT at seasons end......you could invite Harvard and a couple of local wanabees and play it over a couple of weeks............ oh, I just got it - that's what the Crockpot is all about......good thinking, congratulations! ;) :D

2) Minnesota and Wisconsin are incredibly overrated, let alone North Dakota, and God forbid those of us in the east don't bow at the altar or the exalted WCHA and call them 1 2 and 3 because they play in the west so how could they POSSIBLY not be the best with all their super impressive blowout games against tough opponents like Lindenwood and Bemidji State? When BC gets its shot against these SUPER T3H AWESOMEZ hockey teams in the postseason and wins, maybe the western elitists will shut their collective traps and acknowledge that despite winning a few titles, the bulk of the women's hockey talent sits in the east and its depth cannot be matched.

Trash talk aside, one has to also consider the economics of it. Wisconsin or Minnesota or North Dakota can host an eastern school and draw 1500 or more fans, or travel to Boston eg. and play in front of 200.

This season, Wisconsin did play (and beat) Northeastern and BU, but did so in Vail CO, where the games drew in the neighborhood of 750 to 800. Two years ago BU came to Madison and played in front of 3300 and 2200; three weeks later, Wisconsin went to RPI and played in front of 100 and 100.

Not being a jerk here, but what do 'the economics of it' have to do with anything?

EDIT: I say this because I really don't think the added 'revenue' of a few more fans comes into play in scheduling decisions haha

Also, Northeastern was leading Wisconsin late in the 3rd period. Just saying :D

You think an extra 2K fans spending - let's say - $5 a head at the concession stand don't matter? $20K for the weekend to defray travel costs doesn't come into play when deciding what NC games to book and where to play them?

No wonder my brother complained so much about his daughter's BC tuition! You guys have money to burn!

Heh. Yeah I mean honestly, I just don't think they factor that in. Maybe I'm wrong. Be interested in knowing though.

Funny because BC doesn't get many fans at all, and we don't even have concession stands open! Much to HUX's chagrin.

Ha, Joe and I were talking about that last night. During the first round all the food and souvenir booths were open. Last night they had the concession stand by the main entrance, and the carts in the corners, open. Lots of choices to be sure. And a far cry from the triple OT game in '07 when a bunch of us were taking handouts of peanut m&ms from Coach Babson's son.
