2013-2014 D-I Scores and Results Updates Thread

Re: 2013-2014 D-I Scores and Results Updates Thread

Frost I'm sure was not happy with the lapse to allow those three quick goals as he took a timeout right away after BSU's third goal. Should be an interesting third period but I like Minnesota's chances with things opening up offensively.

Also surprised to see BC lose. Seemed like they had things going their way lately.

Also also surprised to see UConn win. Fortunately a series of other shockers means it hasn't affected the pairwise that much, but I really thought we were over that kind of lapse.

End of regulation: UND 2, UMD 2. Hannah Bramm tips Emma Stauber's shot into the net to know the score. Going to OT.

EDIT: And now going to a shootout. Shots through overtime were 30-24 UMD, though 7-4 NoDak during the extra 5 minutes.

Harvard take the Beanpot consolation game, 3-2 with 20 seconds left in overtime. Very entertaining game, one questionable goal on either side, lots of pushing and shoving in front of both nets. Ended on a classic 2014 BU defensive breakdown but they looked better for much of the game.

The Conte faithful collected on the frozen steps north of the forum and cupped the hands to their ears for the sound of the trumpet. Nothing. Crickets. BC wins both the men's and women's beanpot trophies AND BU finishes last. The odds of this are 256 to 1. With 7 minutes remaining, BU snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. All the hardware goes to BC players and every BU player goes home in last place. "BC wins 3-0, article filed." Where is the Tony we love? Come back. Your heroes Stack and Schaus are delighting the world with their talents. Northeastern was shut out so the Doghouse couldn't bellow his Sieve theme. What more do you want? Tony, come back and delight us!

It's hard to get up to Boston for a 2 hour game that is 2 hours away! Especially in the middle of the week :( I was at UConn with the trumpet though. Just didn't get an opportunity to play it.

If you really want me to release my innter TTT20 and give my true opinions I offer you the following:

A) Boston University women's hockey is a joke and their LOOK OUT BELOW fall from the top this year has been spectacular.

2) Minnesota and Wisconsin are incredibly overrated, let alone North Dakota, and God forbid those of us in the east don't bow at the altar or the exalted WCHA and call them 1 2 and 3 because they play in the west so how could they POSSIBLY not be the best with all their super impressive blowout games against tough opponents like Lindenwood and Bemidji State? When BC gets its shot against these SUPER T3H AWESOMEZ hockey teams in the postseason and wins, maybe the western elitists will shut their collective traps and acknowledge that despite winning a few titles, the bulk of the women's hockey talent sits in the east and its depth cannot be matched.

III) The east hasn't won a title yet because a season against all the tough eastern opponents is brutal and takes its toll on all of the teams. If we got to rest up by playing half our season against the Lindenwoods of the world we would probably have an unfair advantage come playoff time too.
