2013-2014 D-I Scores and Results Updates Thread

Re: 2013-2014 D-I Scores and Results Updates Thread

That is EPIC.

just FYI...Cicero did not leave the players bench....actually stepped out of the penalty box when the game ended and was skating toward her team mates when RMU player jumped MU player ...it was a minor scuffle

Not quite viral but it is getting widespread attention, even making the evening sports news on a local channel here in the Twin Cities last night. Not exactly what you want to encourage parents of young girls who are considering giving hockey a try.

Re: 2013-2014 D-I Scores and Results Updates Thread

OSU coach Nate Handrahan as quoted in the linked ESPN article:

"All I know is there were players taking liberties with our players. There was some chippiness throughout the course of the game," Handrahan said. "I've got to believe that our players, and as a staff, as a program, we're not happy with teams celebrating on our ice surface and going off the ice yipping and hooting and hollering. What happened at the end of the game doesn't happen often in women's hockey. But I can tell you this: We're happy to at least see our girls show some fight and some spirit."

Apparently Mr. Handrahan believes that the other team celebrating a win is reason enough for his players to "show some fight and some spirit" by having a brawl. A terrible message to send to his players, and I hope the league decides to send its own strong message to Mr. Handrahan.

what game was Handrahan at? there was no celebration before the fight, his team got their butts spanked and they were sore losers, simple as that

Based on his post-game quote, it sure sounds like it.

Re: 2013-2014 D-I Scores and Results Updates Thread

If you're following live stats on the CollegeHockeyStats.net D-I mobile scoreboard, note that they've somehow picked up the results from the Mercyhurst-RMU game last February 9th, and are showing that as the result from today's Lakers-Syracuse game

The Lakers and Orange don't actually play until 7 p.m. ET tonight.

That happens all the time at various rinks, and not just on the mobile app. It must have something to do with how the given school connects into live box score. The giveaway is when the players for the supposed current opponent are actually on the roster of the previous opponent.

UMD 3 - OSU 0 after one.

'Dogs looking fairly sharp/energetic...the week off might have helped.

Re: 2013-2014 D-I Scores and Results Updates Thread

Quinnipiac and BC tied at 2.

About 8 minutes left and BC on the Powerplay.

Re: 2013-2014 D-I Scores and Results Updates Thread

Princeton with 3 goals in a 2:05 span (though there was an intermission in the middle) -- they lead UNH 3-0 late in the third.

Re: 2013-2014 D-I Scores and Results Updates Thread

Bemidji State 2, Mankato 1 to start the third. BSU with a power play goal with two seconds left in the second.
