The Bobcats have only had one bad period this year, but it was enough to cost them the game at Harvard. They figure to be in the national picture all year, but I don't think the ECAC is strong enough to get four teams in the NCAAs, so QU will have to push aside at least one of the league's three tourney teams from last year.Starting to think that QU might be for real
I'm not so sure; Hockey East will probably only have one. Plus the current top 7 (sorted by conference) is:The Bobcats have only had one bad period this year, but it was enough to cost them the game at Harvard. Not sure what ranking system you've dug up that has BC ahead of BU, so I'll just consider the source on that one. I agree that the WCHA can't get a fourth team in, even though as of now Rutter has Ohio State as the fourth WCHA team in his top five. The ECAC could manage four teams, but Harvard losing to RPI and Clarkson being tied by Brown is not a path conducive to that occurring. The eventual math will much prefer a second Hockey East team or someone from the CHA. Robert Morris and Syracuse both appear decent, so either one of them will remain in contention or Mercyhurst will get value for wins over them. If none of those teams separates from the pack, then an opening appears for a second Hockey East team. BU has been the team in the league most capable of playing 60 minutes, so while I have largely ignored the Terriers to this point, they seem to have dealt with their offseason losses better than that city's bird team.I'm not so sure; Hockey East will probably only have one. Plus the current top 7 (sorted by conference) is:
Minnesota
Wisconsin
North Dakota
Harvard
Cornell
Clarkson
Boston College
So just throw QU in there and there you go. It wouldn't shock me at all to see them beat out Hurst/Duluth/OSU.

There is precedent for Hockey East only getting one team in, and there is only one in the current top 8. The kicker is that the CHA team that would make the field is the Colonials, not the Lakers.Bottom line is this: More parity in the east might mean 3 from WCHA and only 2 each from HE and ECAC.
Early in the 1st period the Gophers go up on the Huskies 1-0. Minnesota goal scored by Sarah Davis, assists go to Garzone & McMillen.
