2013-2014 D-I Scores and Results Updates Thread

Re: 2013-2014 D-I Scores and Results Updates Thread

The roll continues...58 straight for Minnesota with a 4-1 win over Minn State

Although it took a while for the Gophers to break through this evening...Despite a huge advantage in shots it was a 1-1 game halfway through. MSU's Danielle Butters was named the No. 3 Star, and she deserved it.

Union 3 Dartmouth 0. Nice win for Union.

That is probably the most impressive score of all time by Union in ECAC league play.
It was only a few years ago that they posted their first ever win in League play.

Man, I remember being surprised at how much parity there was during the last Olympics... but it's pretty easy to forget just how much the playing field gets leveled.

And the Olympics don't even explain Clarkson / Brown... there's just some deep weirdness in the air.

A lot of it is that the weaker teams are so much better than a few years ago. People complain about the coaches, but by and large, they do an excellent job.

Brown/ Clarkson are always close games, irregardless of where they are in the standings. Last year both results were 2-1.

Having said that good thing there is no ECAC prediction contest. The way last night went was mostly unpredictable:

- RPI, who got swept by UCONN last weekend, beat a previously strong looking Harvard 2-1.
- While Cornell won over Princeton, they almost squandered a 5-0 lead, end score 5-4.
(BTW saw Princeton play a few weeks ago, they are much improved)
- Dartmouth lost 3-0 to Union and are now 0-3
- Brown tied pre-season favorite Clarkson on the road at Cheel.

Maybe we should watch out for Quinnipiac, impressive 6-0 win last night. This makes today's game between them and Cornell, the contest to watch to day.

All these surprises play in the hands of the WCHA sending more teams to the tournament.

You see the third period shots in that game??

Brown goaltender is fantastic. Me thinks she does deserve a little more recognition than she gets around the league. The awards always seem to go to the goalies on the top teams.

I would agree. The performance in game 2 vs RIT was incredible, and now Clarkson!! She is contending for tops in the conference in my books.

Gophers up 1-0 after one. Brandt from Menefee and Ramsey.

RPI dominating play through 2 periods but trailing Dartmouth 2-1.

Re: 2013-2014 D-I Scores and Results Updates Thread

Gophers get two in the last half-minute of the 2nd period to go up 3-0. Shots are 32-15.

Re: 2013-2014 D-I Scores and Results Updates Thread

An all-too-familiar story for RPI: totally dominated play today, and outshot Dartmouth 34-11, but lost 3-1.

Re: 2013-2014 D-I Scores and Results Updates Thread

Minnesota pours it on in the 3rd to beat MSU-Mankato 7-0. Kelly Terry had a huge game, scoring 3 goals and 2 assists.

Re: 2013-2014 D-I Scores and Results Updates Thread

Quinnipiac and Cornell skate to a 1-1 tie.
