2013-14 Season predictions - the crystal bawl awards!!

Re: 2013-14 Season predictions - the crystal bawl awards!!

We accept that chimp and will lug him around proudly. Utica and Mass-Boston had good teams and didn't lose much either. Either Norwich or Oswego will be near the top....but not both. Amherst and Castleton are two teams to watch out for as well. I defer to the experts out west to let us know what's cooking there.

You may want to wait until you see EC's roster.... From what I have heard there are some additions that aren't listed that will have everyone focusing on the transfers EC gets :-D. Can't wait for the season to get started!!!!

Transfers are nice but UWEC will have a challenge replacing 11 Seniors including Singer, Mc Cabe, Weston, and Wilcox, all 20+ point getters plus Stephenson, who played almost every game in net last year. UWEC will have to start with finding a netminder as Green, the Freshman last year only saw action in one game. Should be interesting to watch and my prediction still stands with UWSP climbing to the top of the WIAC. (Who?) But then again, I could be very wrong!

WOW Prof!!!!- Showing that EASTERN BIAS just like your computer poll .:p

The recent trend over the past 6 years show a Western team in the finals every time. The WEST won 4 of those 6 matches including the last 3 Championships.:D:)

Your statistics show your Western Bias, sir. ;)

Those are not statistics, they are RECENT trends. Nothing bias there, that's a straight obvious observation based on pure fact.:)

For clarification,RECENT although a relative term, usually refers to things of late. A concept that is lost on Yankee, Jets, and Islander fans (generally EASTERNERS) when discussing championship caliber teams:D.

Re: 2013-14 Season predictions - the crystal bawl awards!!

Did you ever notice how the Western guys like to leave out the fact that it's almost exclusively St. Norbert that is responsible for the respectability of the West...i.e. The "West" has won 3 of the last 4....or the "West" has owned the east in the Final Four !!! It's absurd. Take St. Norbert out of the equation for a minute and let's talk. WEC of last year was a one hit wonder (See Neumann '09)

I agree with what you are saying.

However, the most impressive western stat I can think of is the fact that 5 of the 7 teams in the "old" NCHA have won National championships in the last 20 years (and all 7 have made the NCAA tourney in that time.) That is just a straight-up incredible accomplishment for a conference. Too bad those days are over, but such is life...

Did you ever notice how the EASTERN guys like to leave out the fact that it's most exclusively an EASTERN tournament, where 7 or 8 of the 11 invited teams are EASTERN , and the brackets are usually setup so that 3 of the 4 Final Four members are EASTERN schools. Now that is absurd!!! For years I could've said take Middlebury out of the equation and let's talk.:p :)

Fact is SNC dominates the WEST, and RECENTLY they've owned the EAST, too. :D:D:D

Re: 2013-14 Season predictions - the crystal bawl awards!!

For many Easterners, SNC IS the west. It's the team nobody wants to play for sure. Nobody else seems to have any lasting success. There are also twice as many eastern teams, which explains the 7 or 8 our of 11 in the tourney. By ratio it's fair. I've probably seen 15 western teams over the years and they're pretty good I agree. Having never won a game in the Primelink against elite eastern competition doesn't help your argument.

Adrian is hard to figure as they play virtually nobody during the season. They were impressive a few years back in the FF though. EC last year was like a semi-pro team with guys plucked from DI teams in a "win now" season. Hypothetically, if you put the top 5 eastern teams up against the top 5 western teams, the east is winning at least 3 IMO.

Re: 2013-14 Season predictions - the crystal bawl awards!!

in the 28 year history of D3 championship, 12 Champions have been from the WEST! in the same time frame 15 runners-up have been from the WEST! The West is doing OK even with the East bias in the Tourny seedings. The comments that UWEC some how went for it by loading up for last year is obsurd, the team was very close to the team of the year before.

Re: 2013-14 Season predictions - the crystal bawl awards!!

Prediction: SNC will (finally) lose a game to what used to be a MCHA school...

Note: this doesn't include Lake Forest from its NCHA days but against the rest of the teams in the former MCHA, SNC is something like 56-0-2 all time.

If it does end, I hope it is before the Harris Cup title game...

And I hope it's not Lawrence. I like being perfect in 30+ games against them :)
