My sources and people I talk to tell me that SLU... Oh this could be so easy to insert story A and story B. Glad the SLU crew was losing sleep last night over this indignation

Mark, thank you very much!

Michael Garteig had some nice comments about the fans this weekend on Twitter, classy kid. By the way, Rand will be on Sirius radio at 6 pm.

Lost in all the hoopla today is the fact that it's once again time to...

BEAT YALE!

I'll be heading to the brown game. Its an Alumni event so there should be a lot of alum. Spats is the per game spot they booked

Delightfully entertaining back and forth after last night! Makes we wish I had gone. SLU has a better history, Bobcats have a better immediate future.

Back to Friday for a moment, there was this seemingly nothing moment. QU on the PP, puck is cleared. Kellen goes back to retrieve under pressure from the Clarkson high man. He feels the pressure and executes this seamless pivot that sees him fly into top speed while the Knight skater floats hopelessly in the opposite direction.

We've been privileged enough to have some great success in our short ECAC tenure but few players that really jump off the ice and enthrall you as consistently as Kellen. Can't tell you how bummed I am that this is his last year here.

Also quick credit where credit is due to Friday's student section. Had been to a few this year where the atmosphere was seriously lacking. Thought they really brought it when it mattered. Chanting to pump up the players the moment after Clarkson scored the equalizer warmed my heart. Great stuff.

That play was amazing and not surprising with Kellen. He's acutally done that a few times this year.

Both he and Connor have been special players for us. Their intensity is never less than 100% and they consistently lead by example. Both will be severely missed but I think we have an ample supply of returning and incoming players to make up at least some of the slack.

They certainly were better Friday than they were last night, but they're still too quiet for the most part. When they get engaged they can be intimidating.

They're known as the "Skating Deerticks" outside Hamden, actually.
I thought that distinction only occurred in Ithaca? ;)

I don't know where "Q-Pac" comes from
The first time I heard it was during some streaming broadcast although I don't remember which school.

In the same way that other teams' fans should respect what Q has accomplished, you might do well to recognize that the ECAC has seen a lot of shooting stars over the years. RPI was going to dominate the conference forever. Then Harvard. Then Clarkson. Then us. Then Vermont. Then SLU. Then us again. Then Harvard again. Then us again. Then Yale.

They all looked unbeatable... right up until the moment they weren't anymore.
But, but, but...

Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats: New season, new scoreboards, new chance at redemption

I'm partial to the old style Gutterson / Matthews / Appleton barns. This is another reason I stick up for SLU -- IMO it's actually they who have the most gorgeous building in the conference.
Appleton is a great old barn. So is Hobey Baker, my personal favorite of the ones I've been to.

Not sure if you have been to Messa yet Mark, if not, go once just to see the place, has a nice roof, that's the only good thing I can say about the place. Coming down to Ingalls?

I was at the epic 5 OT game at Messa few years back. Sat on those God forsaken wood bleachers for 7 periods. For what ended up being the final period, we stood behind the net where the winning goal was scored. Needless to say, I was not impressed with Messa (nor the outcome of that series). ;)

And, yes, I will be at Ingalls Friday. We'll be standing left of the press box on the visitor's side.

I am in aisle nine top row, just on the other side of the same press box. I will stop by and say hello so you don't lose your spot

Sunday's Recruit Stats

BCHL
Canon Pieper 1 assist

AJHL
Nelson Gadoury 1 assist

USPHL
Kevin McKernan 1 assist
Sean Lawrence 33 saves on 36 shots loss in the shootout

Logan Coomes is playing for the Frederick Freeze of the MetJHL and is the leading scorer in the league with 34 goals and 46 assists in 34 games played. He is due to arrive in Hamden for 2016-17 joining other talented forwards Alex Whelan, Johnny DeRoche, Ryan Finnegan and DJ Petruzelli. I like to see Coomes play a higher level of junior hockey to see how he will play against better competition.

Just a friendly reminder...

BEAT YALE!

And Brown. Having seen both teams twice this year, I think they are equal overall (though of course completely different types).
