Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats: New season, new scoreboards, new chance at redemption

There should be a good number of Quinnipiac fans at the Brown game tomorrow. I will be there with my wife and daughter.

I'll be at Brown tomorrow as well with some of my QU people.

Anyone know if tonight's game is going to be online without paying for it? Last year Yale broadcast like QU does now on YouTube, but it seems like that PPV Ivy League Sports Network has taken over all of the home broadcasting of the Ivies.

Can't you people just watch online?? :p

I have a bad feeling it's going to be a neutral environment (aka 50-50 crowd), as Brown basketball will be playing Penn next door and PC is taking on Notre Dame across town. You'd think the reigning national runners up and current 4th-ranked team in the country would be a bigger draw, but the ND games have been sold out for quite a while, I heard.

The Ivy League Digital Network @ $9.95 is the only online option unless you have access to CPTV Sports which is carrying the broadcast. Unfortunately, I don't see a stream available on their website.

Unfortunately that's what I'll be doing. First game at Meehan I'll miss in about 5 yrs. If the weather forecast were better I might consider it but making the 4:00 start was going to be tough for me all along. I'm sure my fellow Q faithful will pick up my slack! ;)

No JST tonight. Connor Clifton is in the lineup.

It's a shoulder injury for JST. Probably will be out tomorrow as well.

Great road win tonight putting us back on track after that tough loss to St. Lawrence last week. Good to get Connor Clifton back as well. This is the Michael Garteig we need down the stretch. Onto Brown tomorrow.

Great win tonight! I was able to get out of work early and made it home for the last half of the first period. We forked over the dough and I couldn't be happier! I won't be heading to Brown tomorrow now either cause of the storm. I'll see everyone next week though. BEAT BROWN!

Yale, who? I want a piece of St. Lawrence :)

Very nice win tonight. Garteig was fantastic. Sounded like Ingalls was silent after the third goal, which was music to my ears!

Hopefully this team will carry the momentum from this win into it's home game at Brown tomorrow! Bruno always plays us very tough, so it just be a good game.

DONE!

Excellent game. Great job by Garteig. Hardest skater on the ice: Tommy Schutt. It was fitting that he got the exclamation point goal at the end. The kid was all over tonight. Complete effort by the entire team.

So nice to silence those Yalies!

Onto Brown tomorrow afternoon. Keep the bus rolling boys!

3 of the 4 goal scorers tonight were freshman in Anas, Clifton and Schutt. Love this freshman class.

YALE BEATEN

Three points against our rivals, I'll take it.

While QU was shutting out Yale I finally got to see Landon Smith play. Salmon Arm doesn't get down here often
so I knew it would be the last time I saw him before his freshman year at QU. They "might" make the playoffs
but from what I saw tonight in their 5-1 loss to Surrey they have their work cut out for themselves.

Ok....Smith....first thing I noticed watching the warm-up....his wrist shot is as hard as most of the teams slap shots!
And is he accurate with it. He can skate. He doesn't seem to waste energy until he needs to turn on the rockets.

The first thing Rand, Reid and Bill will have to explain he can actually skate back over his blue line. :-)

Man oh man....that wrist shot....what a thing of beauty.

The Renouf twins still impress me. Quick is always the word that comes to mind and they see the ice
so very well. They dart into open ice in the blink of an eye. Only downer....they are so small.

Tough game on the road today. For whatever reason, Brown at Meehan always gives us fits. It could simply be the day before/day after Yale syndrome, or it could be they just match up well with us there.

Since last night's game wasn't overly physical, I think we'll still have plenty left in the tank. Brown will be hungry after last nights loss and they're playing much better than they were when they came to the Bank back in November. We need to play our game, use our speed, and set the tempo early. Garteig got a ton of help in front last night and will need more of that today. No defensive breakdowns and keep the foot on the accelerator.

Hopefully there will still be a strong showing by the Blue and Gold faithful to support the team.

Go Q!

We've had a few of those over the years. As long as they're putting up numbers that's ok. ;)

I'm not sure who I'm looking forward to seeing more. All the recruits bring something to the ice and will be a lot of fun to watch.

I know @ThxMuch was just watching ... Anyone else catch the USA Olympic game? That was just too much fun. The goal called back, the Kane chances in OT, Oshie in the shootout. Only disappointing thing was QUick didn't mention the big 4-0 win for his boys from Hamden :) Man I wish they could have got him to commit. GO USA.
