Looks like CBC and Rogers are expected to sign a 12 year deal for exclusive english-language NHL rights for Canada. TSN will be out after this season.

Gotta feel for the whole NHL panel with TSN.

But I doubt that TSN will relegate the NHL to third tier status like ESPN.

What irks me the most is that CBC admitted that they'll have to make cuts to staff and other programming to cover the amount bid so they could keep HNIC.

I understand they needed the income that advertising can generate for them, but that seems like they're spending quarters to save nickles.

Couldn't they have just sweetened their deal to be a tag along on whoever wins? Split ad income with the winning national bidder?

It's long past time that CBC got off the federal teat and fended for itself like other networks. It is so biased and so unwatchable that without HNIC it wouldn't survive more than a couple of years.

No conspiracy in Pittsburgh tonight. Leafs score with 4 seconds left in second to take a 5-2 lead then don't get another shot on goal and lose 6-5 in a shootout. Bernier looked like a beer leaguer on Sid's shootout goal. :mad:

Seems that Calgary's Berra has the Hawks's number... Played well back in Oct. and is standing on his head to start the game tonight... Why oh why do we struggle with the teams from Alberta :confused:

Coz we'd be unbeatable if we didn't?

Berra reminding me of the goalie from Slap Shot.

Just flailing, off his lines, way out of his net. He should not be this effective.

Hawks play the last 10 minutes after mailing it in for the first 50 and win 3-2.

Lol.


Golden times right now. Enjoy it Hawks fans. Can't last forever... just another 6 or 7 years.
