Re: 2012 Presidential Election 5: Election Day Countdown

I thought this was gonna be close and go into the wee hours...Christ this election was called in time to watch Letterman mock it ;)

I told someone else on FB that this was going to be over by 11 PM, EST. Turns out I was off by ~20 minutes.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election 5: Election Day Countdown

John Stewart just made a good point:

After all that time, money and handwringing, we still have a GOP house, a Dem Senate and Obama in the White House. We're exactly where we were two years ago. ****.

No, we aren't. Obama can now declare martial law and get away with it. He doesn't have to worry about the popularity contests anymore.

It's time to secede.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election 5: Election Day Countdown

And I have to hand it to the Democrats that they successfully passed the blame buck to Bush 43, even after 4 years of their own policies.

Dumbya did a lot of damage to the country. We've made great strides in reversing it but we can't get it done in just four years. Rome wasn't build in a day, you know.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election 5: Election Day Countdown

This thread, Fox News and Colbert Report should be fairly amusing for the next few days.
Nah -
I do want to listen tomorrow to the post mortums on Ingraham, Rush, and Hannity. Laura is going to say that the GOP went moderate when it should have gone more conservative, Rush will point to the (possible) Romney popular vote win, and Hannity will be blame voter fraud and Sandy.

Me? I think Romney won debate #1 and forgot that 1st place only counts when the season is over (Red Sox syndrome). He needed to keep hammering about the economy and Obama's dismal record on jobs, debt, and anything else. Instead he took his foot off the pedal and went only 5 over, when he needed to go 20 over (or more). Also, the nut fringe of the GOP was not sufficiently muzzled in the Congressional races. The Dems kept pinning them on Mitt and Mitt did not tell the nuts to shut up.

Lessons learned? Nope. Either a new party springs up or the GOP reinvents itself as earlier posters have suggested. Failure means the Dems can keep the WH for the next generation.

I'm a little surprised they called Ohio but not Florida. Florida's remaining votes are in Dem counties as well.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election 5: Election Day Countdown

Oh, and the real winners tonight are Nate Silver and Princeton's Wang (pun intended).

No, failure means the country is gone and Obummer lets the UN and the New World Order take over. I expect, in a couple years, we will all have chips implanted into our skin and have hyperinflation.

I'm moving to Canada!!!! Who's coming with me? :)

I know Scooby will tag along since he must be crushed that Romney wasn't a lock.

That's awesome. Even better than Bob putting me on ignore.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election 5: Election Day Countdown

Sad, sad day for the country. It is really pathetic that there are so many stupid people out there. Very dark path ahead.
