Re: 2012 NFL Season

Wow that was ridiculous. The Steelers organization should be fined for that when it's that blatant.

Re: 2012 NFL Season

The Titans have stolen many things besides today's game. They stole the Oilers. Their colors. That playoff game in 2000. (Still a forward lateral.)

Re: 2012 NFL Season

It figures that even in a year when the Vikings start 5-2 I can't feel good about it. (well I feel fine given pre-season expectations but lousy considering I expect a hard fall).

It's looking more and more like Ponder is not the long-term answer here. Yes, he has only 17 or 18 games as a starter, but he's just looking too scared when things don't go perfect that it might soon become the established trend.

Re: 2012 NFL Season

The Bears move to 5-1 and have a fairly good schedule lined up for making the playoffs. Even if I give wins to teams who have a 50/50 chance to win they end up 10-6.

They could beat Houston and Green Bay since those games are in Chicago. Depending how Detroit looks at the end of the year, they could also take that game.

Carolina (W)
@ Tennessee (W)
Houston (L)
@ San Francisco (L)
Minnesota (W)
Seattle (W)
@ Minnesota (L)
Green Bay (L)
@ Arizona (W)
@ Detroit (L)

Re: 2012 NFL Season

NEW YORK (AP) — The NFL will consider dropping the Pro Bowl if the level of play doesn’t improve, Commissioner Roger Goodell said Monday night.

Appearing on SiriusXM NFL Radio’s ‘‘Town Hall,’’ Goodell agreed with host Michael Strahan that last January’s Pro Bowl ‘‘was embarrassing.’’
What's the "Pro Bowl?

... Going to an 18-game regular season with two exhibition games remains a point of contention with the players’ union. But Goodell admitted to having ‘‘an issue with the preseason.’’

‘‘Our fans don’t like watching the preseason games, attending the preseason games, so we have to evaluate the season format,’’ he said, ‘‘and that is one way of looking at it: 18-2. Or go to 16-2 or some other alternative; take two of those (preseason) games and make them more developmental.’’.
Apparently, the rather obvious alternative of pricing the exhibition;) games appropriately so that they're not gouging their season ticket holders and so that some fans who can't afford a regular season game could at least get into the stadium to watch the soon-to-be WalMart shelf stockers play out their dreams never occurred to him.

Re: 2012 NFL Season

I'd rather they drop 2 pre-season games period. If they want to go to 2/18 instead of 4/16 they're in essence admitting they don't need the last 2 pre-season games anyway and clearly it's nothing about a money grab. As if that was in doubt anyway.

As far as the QB facebook dealie, I like some of the less obvious things like, "Jerry Jones likes this". There are still plenty of moments but I suspect it will be done soon.

There's a baseball comic called The Dugout that's the same thing, only in AIM Chat with MLB players. It's even funnier. The guy did an NFL AIM Chat for a while that was an uproar, but it seems to have died.

ETA: Found it. Football Guys.

Re: 2012 NFL Season

Is it the NFL Network's broadcast or KARE11's feed that's crossing the SAP and English feeds?

Re: 2012 NFL Season

Maybe those doofuses that call whineline and ask why Joe Webb doesn't start are actually on to something.
