I've been enjoying CHW this year but boy could y'all use a new web design.

Well, it's been a rough year for that. The web guy passed away, leaving me with the responsibility for taking care of the site. I have absolutely zero experience in building websites, so I try to do the best I can. They are hoping to find a new web person, but honestly they are barely keeping the site up as it is, and I'm not sure how much longer they'll be able to keep financing the project. That being said, what about the design do you not like? Again, I have basically no experience, but I can always monkey with the site :p:D:D

Re: 2012 NCAA Tournament: Bracketology

I had forgotten how high that UMD team was in the pairwise. Struggled down the stretch and played themselves out of the tournament. Great factoid

They were a weak #3 and were getting by on the funky math that is the PWR in January. All it took was a few bad losses and they fell like a rock.

Re: 2012 NCAA Tournament: Bracketology

You had mentioned that 5 of the top 9 were Hockey East Teams. I was assuming you were lumping Notre Dame into that category as a future team. I simply lumped Notre Dame and Michigan into the WCHA as past teams. I thought that's where we were going with that. :p:D:D

i'm not here to talk about the past.

Re: 2012 NCAA Tournament: Bracketology

Latest USCHO pairwise:

BU, UM-D, OSU, ND
Mich, Merrimack, NMU, Ferris
BC, UML, Cornell, Denver
Minn, MSU, Miami, AHA

NE: 1. BU 2. FSU 3. BC 4. AHA
East: 1. ND 2. Merrimack 3. Cornell 4. MSU
Midwest: 1. Duluth 2. NMU 3. UML 4. Miami
West: 1. OSU 2. Mich 3.Denver 4.Minn

1-8-9-16
4-6-11-14
2-7-10-15
3-5-12-13

Considerations made bracket integrity inc. hosting, geographics/travel and attendance.

Edit:

Jason Moy's construction is a bit different based on changes to the protocols.

He has NE: BU-FSU-BC-MIAMI
East: OSU-Merrimack-Cornell-MERCYHURST
Midwest: Duluth-Michigan-Denver-MSU
West: Notre Dame-NMU-UMassLowell-Minnesota

Already expecting backlash from the BU crowd about getting screwed.

NMU has a good bracket for ability to advance, but wow does tOSU have it's ticket pre-punched to the Frozen Four with this setup.

Just like Denver in 2010...or Michigan in 2009....

Re: 2012 NCAA Tournament: Bracketology

I admittedly just skim the bracketology articles. Oh well. I thought I was being clever.

I got what you were saying... sooner or later Blaisi's crew will live up to being tDynasty. After all, it would be a regional semi-final, not a FF game.

That's funny, because most Cornell fans seemed quite happy with the bracket, too! :)

Re: 2012 NCAA Tournament: Bracketology

Why wouldn't current #1 overall UMD be first in line to claim they're getting screwed?

Pretty sure they don't have the right to b*tch since they're the ones that got swept by PWR#13 Minnesota and lost one game to PWR#23 UNO.

Re: 2012 NCAA Tournament: Bracketology

We're still a #1 seed. Green Bay or St. Paul doesn't matter. I would give the slight edge to St. Paul because then my drive will be 90% shorter :)
