2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

Because that matters.

I can't wait for the 2014 all star game with the one Twin in it.
The one Twin being Joe Mauer, because he is signed until about 2030 to an untradable contract, and in 2 years he'll still be hitting .300 with no power and no one on base.

I still don't get how a 6'5", solid guy -- who could've played football at Florida State! -- hits with so little power. If he *looked* like stringy Rod Carew I wouldn't mind so much. Oh well.

Holy cow, I go away to the Boundary Waters for four days, get back and get on this thread, and nobody's posted anything in the meantime. What a team, eh? Inspiring! Exciting! Taking our money and coasting along!

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

Twins are kinda playing well tonight.:eek::eek:

No flurking schnit! I headed upstairs to tuck the kiddies in and it was 7-4 in the top of the 5th . . . I come downstairs fifteen minutes later and it's freaking SEVENTEEN to four, STILL in the top of the 5th!

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

I wonder if they will score more runs tonight than the Vikings will put up points on Sunday.

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

That was a fun game to be at -- although the first three innings took forever. The Twinks' new pitcher sure takes his time. And walks a lot of people.

Morneau's first homer went a freaking mile, and the game-winner looked like he hit a 3-wood. Even the crack of the bat was amazingly loud.

Also, the mini donuts out behind the center field bleachers are pretty tasty. And the weather was beautiful. So no complaining today about management treating me like a chump.

The Twins have given up. It happens to teams way out of contention. Oh well, *cliche* "There's always next year!"

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

Yikes, bottom of the 10th, Cleveland has the bases loaded and one out. What a time to tune in.

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

Mastroianni scores from 2nd on an infield single to deep 2nd -- kid's got wheels! Twinks now up 5-4 in the 11th.

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

Is the Indian's first baseman stoned?

Ha! He had that look on his face, didn't he? -- "Oh man. Bummer. Should have covered the bag." Meanwhile the lead runner's headed home!

Annnnnnnd Perkins gives up a homer to make it interesting, but strikes out the last batter for a Twinks win.
