2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

It sounds like they are heating up for the start of the season. I guess there is a slight chance that they won't be horse****. But I guess we'll see.

Today:
Plouffe - 4/4 3HR and a 2B (AAA game)
Morneau - 3/4 1HR 3RBI 2Runs
Mauer - 3/4 1RBI 2Runs
Hughes - 2/4 1HR 3RBI 2Runs

Pitching is still a disaster though.

I wouldn't complain with a .500 season.

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

The talk is that Moonshot won't be ready and that Swarzak or possibly Hendricks will take his spot at the start of the season.
Baker is supposed to miss his first two starts, I think. Marquis is also out because his daughter was in a bad biking accident.
The numbers from Liriano and Blackburn are encouraging, hopefully headcase Liriano stays away, but that's doubtful.
Blackburn is a sinker ball pitcher, and he should be good at this time of year due to colder weather. Once we hit late May/June, he will once again be ****.

Yeah, all of that cold weather in Florida the last month has really helped him this spring. :p

It's still cooler there now than it will be in a couple months. There's probably a statistical correlation between avg game temperature and his ERA.

Plus it's spring training - how many people assured of roster spots are trying that hard at this stage? :p

Pavano on the hill today, not Baker.

2-R HR for Markakis in the 1st.

Over/Under on 63 wins? I'll take the under with this start.

At least it wasn't a shutout.

6 innings, no hits...against Baltimore.
This may end up being the worst offense in baseball.
I thought .500 might be a possibility, now I'm not so sure.
