I think ol' "Fast Hands" Cain has some bigger problems to worry about right now than his campaign manager's smoking habit.

Stick a fork in him. He's done.

Stick a fork in Mitt Romney too. George Will is calling him Michael Dukakis. And with no real alternative the GOP is blowing it again.

Michele's still out there right wingers. Hurry up before you blow your chance.

Re: 2012 Elections: Corndogs for everyone!

Ron Paul wants to end federal student loans.

In theory, he's absolutely correct. Federal loans drove the demand for college sky-high, resulting in massive hikes in tuition. The colleges don't care if the student can't pay, they're guaranteed the money from the government. Thus, they have no incentive to lower tuition.

I'm just concerned about how it would work in practice. I just don't trust that the colleges wouldn't just keep the tuition high anyway, and only the rich would afford college, making things even worse. In order to get the drop in tuition he's seeking, enrollment would have to drop off a cliff...which I suppose could happen in 5-10 years if the price stays high as more people begin to view college as overvalued.

I cannot tell you how glad I am this issue has been brought to the forefront. This is the next bubble to pop in this country. Mark my words.

Re: 2012 Elections: Corndogs for everyone!

I'm wondering which standard of "guilt" "innocence" and "proof" the libtards will apply here: the Clinton standard, the Thomas standard, the Kennedy standard or the Edwards standard.

I suppose in the fullness of time we'll learn what these are:

"There were also descriptions of physical gestures that were not overtly sexual but that made women who experienced or witnessed them uncomfortable and that they regarded as improper in a professional relationship."

Strikes me as an amazingly subjective standard. Not quite like stains on a blue dress or a young girl choking her life away in the backseat of a car or producing a "love child."

Last I checked the blue dress was hatched during a consensual act. Nice try though.

It was with a subordinate though. Generally speaking, sex between subordinates and management is a major no-no (because even if it is consensual, there will be the perception that the manager/supervisor is now biased in favor of the other participant, and if things go sour, it can immediately create a hostile work environment).

If that's a no no then over 100 years of corporate America never happened. :D

When sexual harassment became a big deal, that conduct became a no-no for liability / lawsuit reasons. Just sayin'. (And when exactly did sexual harassment claims / lawsuits really start taking off? The '80s? The '90s? I know it was fairly recent in the grand scheme of things.)

Then lied about repeatedly, including under oath. And a claim was advanced that what that pig Arkie did in the Oval wasn't "sexual relations." Try selling THAT to your wife or girl friend. Could there be any greater disparity in status than that which separates an intern and POTUS? When Clarance Thomas was smeared by unproven allegations by a Yale Law School grad, we were constantly reminded of the significance of these disparities and how they were the dark heart of sexual harrassment. But in the case of the draft dodger, not so much.

Were Larry Craig, John Ensign and David Vitter set up by these dark and evil liberal forces, or did they actually commit the crimes in your opinion? Because I'm seeing a pattern here out of you....

Regarding "Fast Hands" Cain, what I want to see is if any money is involved here in coming forward. If there is, then I'll take the accusations with a big grain of salt. Cain looked ridiculous at first saying he was unaware of the suit and the settlement. He's the director and knows nothing about a settled lawsuit against himself? Yikes. Doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies about how he'd handle an international crisis if he's that distanced from things happening around him.

I'll give you credit for patience, anyway.

You're trying to use reason to refute emotion.

Apply parsimony. He was never actually "unaware" of the charges or settlement. He tried to bluff his way through, and by the end of the day he'd completely reversed himself. I don't think he sounded dumb or uncertain; what he sounded was mendacious and lawyering the point, like Bill Clinton's "it depends on what "is" is or "I did not have sex with that woman." Put bluntly: he was lying.

So basically he didn't affect my judgment of his fitness for president at all. :D

I neither implied nor expressed nor intended to express any reference to "dark and evil liberal forces." What you been smokin', boy? You ought to try responding to what I actually post, rather than your reflexive tu toque libtard talking points.
