Does anyone know if there will be tickets left to buy at the box office tomorrow? Also, do any Union alum know if we have to register for the dinner tomorrow? I couldn't find the event on the alumni site

No registration necessary, just pay at the door. There should be tix available at box office or if you want order on line at NCAA website and pickup at will call.

The rule needs to be rewritten. I can't imagine college coaches support the way it's written now.

I think it is written that way because you could have a goal slip in under the side of the net while lifted two or three inches up the peg.

Congrats to Lowell, but that's not really character, that's just a case of miraculously not ****ting your pants. Miami had a couple open looks and could have won. But close don't count in hockey!

No. I understand it is tough for someone who roots for BU to know what character is, but that was absolutely character.

Coming back from down 3-0 with zero momentum was the character moment for me. You're of course welcome to your opinion, but Lowell weathered a storm and got the requisite luck at the end.

Nice potshot though, one thing you are great at. The irony.

Campus regionals are another problem. I'm not interested in going there.

The only exception I'd consider is Lowell, which is an AHL arena in addition to being UML's home rink.

Other than that, there have to be a number of AHL rinks with at least decent ice. Bridgeport might just be a lousy site.

Lowell no longer has an AHL team and UML now owns arena outright. No more AHL.

According to the rule (6-18-c-12), the goal doesn't count even if the net "barely even MOVEs." Any MOVEment at all means that the frame is out of position.

Trouble is that the ref (Marco Hunt) never saw the puck go in or the net move. MSU got screwed and as usual it's a WCHA officiating crew on the ice messing up the call...again.
If the net stays on the moorings no one EVER waves a goal off when a player bumps into the net. It has to come off. They got it wrong and they gave this BS story about the net being off. Complete hog wash! Embarrassing for the WCHA and unfortunate for MSU.

CCHA is taking a beating loosing twice to ECAC and once to HE. Way to go Lowell !!!! If w Michigan looses today, CCHA will have dropped 4 of 5 teams in the first round. Last ECAC team to make the final 4, 2003. If either Cornell or Union win, that drought will end. Pulling for Maine.

Many people are pointing to Lowell's win as some epic shock, but it is true that Miami was a moribund team for a large stretch of the season...even being 'unranked' for a spell.

Its a reputation thing... both sides played good enough to win and good enough to lose... in the end we came out winners. No complaints! Even when were giving up the 3 goals I thought we were playing well despite not being able to set up in the offensive zone and letting guys in behind. Yeah, we were getting trapped in our own zone a bit but that wasn't really until after we gave up the 3 goals.

Last night was not a shock... we played hard and did what we did all year.

Actually I want Lowell to win. Miami ended our season a few years back. I'm just saying the ice conditions are embarrassing and we all could be watching better hockey.

Talk about character. Blowing a 3-0 lead in 7 minutes, getting a 5 minute major after that, killing it at the end of the 3rd to get to OT, killing the last bit of it in OT and winning it.

Love it. UML certainly represented Hockey East well no matter what they do from here on out.

I joked about this last night, walking out of the arena, saying "this was exactly how Bazin drew up this game!" Of course, had Lowell lost, it wouldn't have been very funny.

Carter should know better. After all this Lowell program kicked his Spartans out of the NCAA Tournament in both 94 and 96 (while Carter was playing), on the MSU home ice.

I was sitting right there and the ref behind the net immediately waved off the goal, not sure if there is a replay around but that is what I saw.

I watched the MSU/Union game from the Publick House, but on TV it was obvious right away the ref said no goal.

Now ... to Tiago's today!
