As far as Buffalo, i meant cause they suck, not cause they don't have fans. :p

Apparently the Islanders are moving to Brooklyn with the Nets. Strange since its not built for hockey as far as sightlines, etc.

Not the NHL but the KHL, but I just saw this on PTI:

Lehtera sick penalty shot Full Version

Note that it was in the All-Star game. I can't imagine the goalie lets that in in real play. If anything, the goalie sees that it's going to happen, thinks to himself that it's a pretty clever move, and let's it go.

What is your NHL team doing to to attract the fans back to the arena? In Boston they are giving away free concessions (limited, no alcohol) in January and doing a "shirt off their back" on opening night. They are also giving away locker room visits, trips to away markets on the team charter etc. One thing they aren't doing that other teams are, is waiving TicketMaster fees, which for the Garden are $10/ticket. No thank you. I'm going down by train tomorrow to Boston to buy tickets...I figure three tickets = round trip on the train, more than that and I come out ahead.

The Center Ice Package will be 4 payments of $14.99 while Gamecenter from the NHL is $50.
(Edit: Just read the list of "peace offerings" further down the page)

Maybe so, though my guess was that the goalie got fooled into thinking the guy was going to kick it back to his stick with his right skate when he stepped over it instead, and reacted based on that guess; notice him pushing off with his left skate and dropping his right pad right after the skater stepped over the puck.

If anyone is interested, the Bruins - PBruins scrimmage game is on the Bruins web site. 1-0 PBruins late in the 1st.

Rumor is GameCenter will cost $50 for the season.

To those of you planning on using your PS3 to watch games, be forewarned - the Gamecenter app will not be available until "sometime in the next two weeks". I foolishly bought gamecenter live today, and when I attempted to link to my PS3, there was no place to enter the code. So I contacted NHL Customer Support, both by phone, and by e-mail. Here is the email response:

Greetings,

Thank you for you inquiry,
The app you see is the old version of the app and cannot be linked. The new app will be out within 2 weeks and you will be able to link it at that point. Thanks for your patience

Best Regards

NHL Support

Nice, NHL. So I am stuck hooking up my laptop to my big screen for a while. Ugh.

Thus far, subsidizing TicketBastard fees and offering a limited number of $9 nosebleeds throughout the regular season.

Oh, and hopefully proving me wrong by winning the Cup. ;)

Yeah, I got a question today about the rumor that the Bruins were selling $10 tickets. They always sell tix for 10 bucks. They're in the Tufts Family Section which I believe is at the top of Sections 324+325 (you might be able to see the ice from there) and they're for kids under 12. Adults pay $25. They're basically a chance for kids to say "I went to a Bruins game!" while Dad tries to get hammered without his kid noticing.

The Hawks aren't doing **** and this town is stupid enough to encourage such behavior... We already sold out the home opener... Really on edge because of this :mad::mad:

Re: 2012-13 NHL Thread. Fehr Thee Well??

The Wild have a free scrimmage tomorrow, 10 dollars free concessions and 50% gear at the team store.

Ditto the Rangers as far as I'm aware.

Reports are that Bettman will be in attendance at the Kings' banner raising, by his decree he will not go onto the ice.
