Penguins are doing 1/2 price concessions. That will work great for my 1st period boycott of the on-ice product via spending it on the concourse.

OOPS!! Read the tweet correctly! It's free concessions and 1/2 off merchandise for first four games.

The Sabres press conference / release mentioned that they lost 30 season tickets from the lockout and 50 during the past offseason, but there are 3,000 people still on the waiting list.

Also, they just announced today that there is a straight-up 50% discount on all merchandise in the team store through the first home game.

Free concessions? How are they going to control that? Must be a limit per person/per order or that will become a riot.

Even if Centre Ice/Game Center isn't free i'll probably still pony up for it (internet version) so I can watch Wild and Canadiens games.

Centre Ice can't be free but Game Center could be. It depends on who owns the distribution rights.

Game Center allows you to watch games from the past, right? I'm in Minnesota, so if I want to see my Bruins, that's how it's going to be. But I will be working nights and missing the games. But, if I can watch them when I get home, 3 hours after the game's finished, I may still get it. Of course, I dunno how I'll be able to avoid the scores while going to click on the game, haha.

You can watch games that have been played already. For sure you can use the condensed game feature. Not sure if they have the long (with ad break) version archived.

Each fan gets three vouchers for three free items.

FWIW, if your team is doing 1/2 off merchandise, that's something to seriously consider. If Minnesota does it, ill probably get one of the spendy authentic jerseys.

If I were a betting man, I'd say the spendy authentics will likely be exempt from those sales.

Today would have been Tim Horton's 83rd birthday. Raise a cup of Timmy's coffee in salute! :D

If you guys are talking about collectible game-worn jerseys, I definitely agree with your prediction. But if you're talking about public issue jerseys made to authentic specs, he may have a shot at it. Supply isn't an issue, and there's a lot of mark-up on that item. Even at half off the team is making a few bucks.

Sadly pessimism in this situation always warranted. Here in Columbus the "win back the fans" gestures have been mostly tokenism. Reduced prices on bad seats, that kind of thing. And apparently there's a enhanced chance to win autographed pucks. (shrugs) But 50% off at the team shop would be meaningful. Hope that idea gains traction around the league.

The players have ratified the CBA. Just waiting on the Memorandum of Understanding now.

Re: 2012-13 NHL Thread. Fehr Thee Well??

I have yet to see or hear about any of these "We're Sorry" gestures from the Blackhawks... Have the other teams made any announcements yet or is it still unofficial?

Tried looking into tickets and can't find a release date yet either...
