End of the first period now.

Kortum opened scoring with an interception and unassisted goal glove-side. Packer's power play goal came with assists by Pacholok and Decker; sounded like she took a fake shot to get Räty out of position. Brandt's power-play tally was a rebound goal off an initial shot by Bozek; Kessel also picked up an assist.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

Kelly Terry scores on a feed from Becky Kortum. Minny now up 3-1, still early in the 2nd.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

The 2nd period ends at 3-1 Gophers. Shots on goal are 22 UM -15 WI.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

4-1! Rachel Ramsey scores her 5th of the year.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

After this weekend do we need to start the countdown to the possibility of a perfect season. ?? The biggest obstacle appears to be that good ol Rival UMD who are now charging up the ladder.....

Those who have tried to put the jinx on our team in the past have not been successful! :p ;)

The only thing you can say for sure is that they are the most immediate obstacle.

I'm hoping that the Gophers can go perfect in that game.

I got the impression it was an attempt at some TTT style Voo Doo.

Probably more than a few out there sticking pins in little stuffed Goldy's...or something.

I took it as a sincere comment from a fan of the game. Always give posters the benefit of the doubt. I.e., OnMAA-post >>> TTT-post.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

Ahhh yes, what fun it was when our New England Patriots went 16-0, plus two playoff games to make it to the Super Bowl, and then................

It's been a few years, yet fans and sports radio refuse to let them off the hook for that one. When that happens, the pain really lingers. Just be prepared!

A Pat's fan explaining Super Bowl disappointment to Minnesota fans? Priceless.

To put it in a more relevant context than the NFL, I experienced losing as the #1 seed in 2002. It hurts just as much; one doesn't think, "Boy, I'm glad we lost earlier so we're prepared for this." Nobody cares that you started the season as an underdog. You know that you were good enough to win and didn't. Nothing said by all those millions of women's hockey fans calling in to sports radio is going to change the disappointment meter a whole lot. After 2010, I'd think that you'd get that a little better.
