2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

After one, Harvard leads Dartmouth 1-0. Lyndsey Fry scored at 17 seconds into the period. Doesn't look like Sasha Nanji in the lineup. Also missing last night.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

Typical Providi team, they are never out of it! Going to OT with the Friars once again.....

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

Colgate up 2-0 on Cornell after 1st period! Quinnipiac up 1-0 on SLU after 1.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

Colgate, 36th in the country in PK, successfully kills off a 5 min major, as will as another 2 min minor towards the end of that penalty leading to a Cornell 5 on 3. Wow! Good for them. Colgate still leads 2-0 with 5 minutes to go in 2nd.

Noticed Saulnier is not in the lineup for Cornell.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

Quinnipiac up 2-0 after 2 periods in a penalty free game. Clarkson up 3-0 now.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

Looks like RMU and RIT advancing in the CHA.

RIT needed OT to win over Penn, and after last nights Marathon, RMU got it done in regulation this time.....2-0 over Lindenwood.

Clearly Lindenwood is one of the most improved squads from start to end of season. Good on them.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

Noticed Saulnier is not in the lineup for Cornell.

Saulnier missing for Cornell and Nanji missing for Dartmouth. Key losses for those teams.

Looks like Harvard is the first to advance to the ECAC semi's. After all the lamenting by their fans, they made it look easy on the score board this weekend with 3-0 and 4-0 wins.

Clarkson well on their way to join Harvard with a 3-0 lead in the third, most likely setting up a semi match-up with the Crimson.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

Meanwhile in the most anticipated match in the WCHA quarters, OHIO goes on the road to sweep UMD. OSUALUM dancing in the street ?

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

3+ minutes left in game, SLU pulls goalie....Quinnipiac still up 2-0.

First penalty of the game finally called at 2:49 against Sullivan of SLU. Looks like this one's going to Game 3.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

OMG...SLU scores with 29.5 sec left. Refs add 2 sec. after play. SLU scores again with 0.2 sec left after goalie interfered with. No call.

Going to OT.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

Cornell scores 3 in the third period (2 in the final minute of the game) to beat Colgate 3-2.

Sounds similar to a few years ago when they also escaped with late game heroics and OT to win over an 8th seed. IIRC it was RPI at the time. Seems like Cornell is always having trouble in the opening weekend of the ECAC playoffs as a top seed.

Heartbreaker for Colgate...leading with a minute to go. Cornell pulls goalie, and scores the tying goal. Then the game winner with 1 sec left. Jenner with the GWG, she's always been a game breaker.

Colgate as #8 seed deserves enormous credit for playing it as close as they did to #1 seed in 2 consecutive games. Special kudos to Randos with 42 saves. Not to mention the Colgate offence scoring 6 goals against the best defence in the league.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

SLU and Qpac going to second OT period. Horrific refereeing. Both ways.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

Going to 3rd OT in Hamden. The officiating is SO BAD in this game I fear they may end up causing the GWG. Somebody from the league office needs to review the game tape. And this is not even among the worst games I've seen for officiating this season.

Carmen McDonald in net for SLU is certainly the star of the game so far.
