2011 NHL Playoffs IV: Rome is Burning

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs IV: Rome is Burning

From watching the replay again, it looks to me like Burrows tries to take a swing at Sidenberg's stick after they switch positions in front of Thomas. Sidenberg keeps his stick on his left side (left shot) and Burrows, watching the play behind Thomas, swings thinking that Sidenberg is a righty. Burrows is too busy watching the play that he doesn't realize just who's stick he hit.

Unless Burrows is just that smart that he knew EXACTLY what he was doing. Just like how Chara knew EXACTLY where on the ice he was to hit Pacioretty (Oh wait, he didn't).

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs IV: Rome is Burning

He's talking about this year's 1st round between Vancouver-Chicago, where Vancouver went up 3-0, got outscored 12-2 the next two games, lost game 6, gave up a tying goal in the final two minutes in game 7, but scored in OT to advance instead of being knocked out 3 straight years by Chicago.

I guess I would have responded similarly as that series also has no bearing on this series. Chicago barely squeaked into the playoffs , and had to use a run and gun style game to win the cup last year. Luango had a few bad games , and I agree that he’ll play more like the first two games.

Plus Is Corey Crawford even close to Tim Thomas?

again, the two clubs or playoff series are hardly comparable outside of when a few of the goals were scored.

And his original comment is to the people in the thread who watched the last two games and decided the series is over because there's no way Vancouver can mentally overcome what just happened.

Oh, so Burrows suffers from dyslexia.

Bingo. That's all I'm sayin'

1. I didn't see anything from either team last night that rises to the level of an atrocity.

2. Thomas was a little ***** with UVM, and he's still a little *****. But he is a red hot little ***** and the B's should defend him to the death.

Exactly what did Thomas do to earn that little moniker? How does the way he plays differ from most goalies?

Anyone who thinks Thelma and Louise and the Canucks are done, go look at games 4 thru 7 of the Chicago series. Talk about a psychologically damaged team. Yet, they won Game 7 2-1 on OT.

Hockey is a funny game. Luongo will probably pitch a shut-out Friday.

I agree. They are not done. As much as I have enjoyed watching them get smacked around the last two games I wouldn't write them off yet. Hopefully Boston will smack them around two more times and we will get to see the Sedin sisters and Roberta cryin.

OK, so Burrows tried knocking the stick out of Seidenberg's hands. How the hell was Thomas supposed to know that? Bottom line is Burrows had exactly what was coming to him. But based on the fact you had to throw in Chara/Pacioretty, it's becoming clear that you simply don't like the Bruins--which is fine with me. Couldn't care less.

The only thing we know for sure is that the Canucks are a bunch of Gooning, Turtling, Thelma and Louise Cheating Hacks and the Boston Bruins are just trying to defend themselves without getting hurt.
