They're playing The Cure over the PA.

The Cure.

I think that means the game isn't going well.

We know it's not "Boys Don't Cry," since these are Boston fans.

I had another interesting thought, which was moving Dallas to the Southeast, and keeping Nashville in the West. Sounds kind of odd, but then you can keep the Central the same, and create a Midwest with Minnesota, Colorado, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Calgary.
One idea I've had was to move both Dallas AND Nashville to the Southeast. Move Toronto and Buffalo (travel/geographic partners) to the West to balance the Original Six. Plus, Burke may like being back in the Western Conference.

Move DAL and NSH to the Southeast, Washington to the Atlantic, Pittsburgh to the Central?

Having Dallas and Washington in the same division is tough.

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs III: History Will Be Made

In the event of ATL to WPG, the most equitable solution is WPG to the Northwest, MIN to the Central and NSH to the Southeast (which would actually make the SE a very competitive division, save for the Panthers).

I doubt it would go down that way though.

well tampa was the better team when they had to be. Those 3 quick goals were not characteristic of boston, and once it was 3-1, the game settled down. I really hope this series is closer than that because its going to be over in 4 quick if the same effort comes around. I doubt it will come to that. Boston kept tampa's top line quiet. Its tough though when you lose your best Center. They clearly looked like they were adjusting, especially in the offensive zone.

After those 3 goals, Boston did settle down and outplayed Tampa (minus the goalie) for most of the 2nd and 3rd in my opinion. The first goal was unfortunate since the defender lost his stick, the 2nd was a stop that needs to be made by Thomas, the third was Kaberle being Kaberle.

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs III: History Will Be Made

I have to agree. It's just one game, and I didn't see anything that made me think that the Bruins were fundamentally overmatched in the series. I'm old enough to remember the 1988 Stanley Cup finals, and last night did not look anything like that.

Thomas needs to shake it off and the power play needs a lucky goal (and the realization that they have a better chance of scoring from down low than with howitzers from the blue line). This is still winnable.

I heard about Boogaard on Friday, but couldn't get to a computer. Truly shocking that one of the toughest SOB's to ever play the game died so young. What a shame. :(

Why do the Sharks still have those ugly uni's? Its time for them to upgrade that look. Maybe that's why they never win the cup.

I always used to joke that he was so big, he had to have been sired by a moose.

A lot of people around the Twin Cities know what a softie he was off the ice, and along with his young age that's what makes this so terrible to hear about.

He was truly a gentle giant. Awesome guy once he left the rink. This is true with many "enforcers" though. I always found them to be the best ones to talk hockey and have a beer with. They know their role, no delusions of grandeur.

Agreed. "The Code" has some quotes and stories from enforcers that definitely support that.

And I don't give two craps that he was on the Rangers; he is one of us, even now. The Boogeyman ruled.
