Yeah. Replayed showed that the Shark barely brushed Howard. Bad penalty call on SJ. Arguable a power play for SJ, but I still think I'd leave it 5x5.

I wasn't able to get out of work until overtime, so I need some independent confirmation ... were the refs half as bad as the Wings broadcasters and some fans I'm reading said they were?

I don't dare say this, but I though the high stick was legit.

Even as a Wings fan, the *****ing in the first 10 minutes after this game is off the charts. Looking at the stat sheet, the way they got outshot, I'm having a lot of trouble believing that they played that well.

BTW, that makes five straight one-goal playoff losses to the Sharks.

I think it was too... You are ultimately responsible for where your stick goes... When it's 6 foot off the ice and behind you, you're just putting yourself in a bad position to begin with...

This series should be quite entertaining if this game is any indication...

Given that they called a 4 minute penalty on Thornton in game 6 in LA for Simmonds lifting Thornton's stick into his own face last week, I would have lost my **** had they *not* called a penalty.

It'll go down as an even strength GWG, but it's still on Abdelkader. DET was completely gassed after that 4 minutes. Couldn't clear the defensive zone. It was just a matter of time. Come to think of it, that sums up most of the game.

Wings fans were happy about the extra time off. I didn't really see anything from Zetterberg tonight. I think they'd have been better off not having 8 days off, or whatever it was.

For those who haven't seen it yet, that was a tremendously bad bounce. Off the shaft of Stuart's stick and straight down, then a huge hop over Howard's shoulder.

When I first saw the goal I thought, "Nice sportsmanship Stuart". Upon the first replay I realized he knew he redirected the shot and was mad at himself and not Howard.
