Good change, there, PK. You're just a defenseman, don't bother playing defense. Just skate to the bench.

To paraphrase the Allman Brothers...

"Not gonna let em catch the midnight Ryder"

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs: Can the goalies be stopped?

That's a good call. Very bad decision. He's still a 21 year old rookie playing 27 minutes a night.

He's young enough that they might need to give him the Vlasic treatment. Tell him next season that his primary mission is improving his defense. If he only ends up with 22 points in the regular season because he's not pinching/leading the rush, so be it. Otherwise, you run the risk of getting Mike Green.

Of all people, Michael F Ryder. He of the paper airplanes in the press box during the Habs-Bruins series when he was a Hab 3 years ago. Grrrr.

What a game. Great come from behind, never say die victory. Amazing win. PLEASE keep it up in Game 5 Boston.

I totally agree. Unfortunately, the lack of Markov has forced him into situations he's probably not ready for.

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs: Can the goalies be stopped?

that was a pleasant surprise.
montreal had spent so much time in the B's end, I should have known.

Completely forgot about him. Good call.

(Dude's been out since before Deer season, of course I forgot about him)

If it's the playoffs, you can count on Markov being out. :(

Sad because he's incredibly dynamic.

Props to the Bruins. Very impressive to win two in Montreal down 2-0. Mo has definitely swung back to the B's. The one thing the Habs have going for them is a solid, veteran core; battle tested after last year. It's the same dudes that came back against Washington and Pittsburgh. We'll see how Game 5 goes.

Either way...we have a series that many predicted to go 7 games. Seem to be on that path now, and its a very entertaining series.

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs: Can the goalies be stopped?

I have no beef with it going 7 games. Bruins-Habs should go 7 every time they meet in the playoffs, anyways. Can't get enough Original Six hockey.

Apparently the only ex-Hab to score a playoff game winner at Montreal.

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs: Can the goalies be stopped?

Strange thing for a Habs fan to say right now, but . . . I can't say I disagree :)

Hey, I am fully on record that the team Boston is putting on the ice is better than the team that Montreal is putting on the ice. Is there a playoff team with a worse top 6? Honestly? Travis Moen? We miss Max. If Montreal wins, it will be on Carey's back and intangibles. Regardless of what happens this series, I don't think either of these teams wins their next round.

Man, Michael Ryder.
