Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs: Can the goalies be stopped?

I have no beef with it going 7 games. Bruins-Habs should go 7 every time they meet in the playoffs, anyways. Can't get enough Original Six hockey.
And when will the too many men on the ice penalty be called?

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs: Can the goalies be stopped?

Vancouver apparently warming up for game 7 tonight.

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs: Can the goalies be stopped?

Hey, I am fully on record that the team Boston is putting on the ice is better than the team that Montreal is putting on the ice.

I was just joking anyway - pointing out the timing of a Montreal fan talking about implosions, etc.

I'm not sure about this momentum stuff. From what I saw this year, the Bruins' intensity is down a notch when they play at home. No reason why Montreal can't steal game 5 and put themselves in great shape. Not sure about Montreal's ceiling, there *are* more talented teams in the playoffs. But that's a question for after round 1...

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs: Can the goalies be stopped?

Good road period for the Sharks, 0-0, both teams with 5x3, SJ for 1:28, LA for :22.

And LOLuongo.

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs: Can the goalies be stopped?

Edler with a cheap elbow to the head at the end of the 2nd.

5-0 Chicago after two. I wonder if Vancouver knows they have to win 4 games to advance...

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs: Can the goalies be stopped?

The CBC analysts are roasting Edler oven an open-fire and the Canucks as a team for their cheapness.

Its like they totally lose their minds in the playoffs, especially against Chicago. If they played their "regular" game - speed, skill, they can out-talent and out-skate Chicago. Instead, Vigneault has them playing robot goon hockey. They are just handing this to Chicago.

Vancouver .... an enigma wrapped in a puzzle wrapped in ...

3-2 Sharks after two. Good first half, getting up 3-0, then Niclas Wallin strikes again followed by the farkup excuse of a 4th line in the 2nd half of the period.

Seriously, Wallin makes me understand what Wings fans had to deal with Lilja.

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs: Can the goalies be stopped?

ALL 18 skating players for the Blackhawks got some ice time during the 4-minute powerplay in the 3rd period. How often do you see that?

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs: Can the goalies be stopped?

The CanSucks are playing like a human vacuum cleaner managing to both suck and blow at the same time.

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs: Can the goalies be stopped?

That was some...interesting reffing between two teams that went into dumbass mode for the last 4 minutes. 6-3 Sharks, 3-1 series.

They've got their hands around their necks and are in the process of tightening the grip.
