Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

That's weird. Ian Lapperierre wins the Masterton Award. Funny... how does a Flyes player win ANYTHING with sportsmanship attached to it? He'll be on the first plane out of town in the morning. :D

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

I'm watching this now on Versus. Did NHL Network broadcast it live or something? Jay Mohr is horrid.

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

So sad they had the real housewives there.
Even worse they mispronounced St. Louis.

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

Winnipeg's first game next year will be against the Habs in Winnipeg. Sunday, October 9.

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

I go back to 2003 and the Sharks trading up to draft Michalek and Nashville taking Suter next and 2005 when they traded up to draft Setoguchi and New York took Staal with the Sharks pick.

What's wrong with Setoguchi???

Early schedule leak? Where'd you see that?

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

It's called a tie, Roberto. You can buy them anywhere. They complete the outfit and make you look presentable at an awards show.

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

He's not awful by any means, but he's basically 20g 45pt guy unless you stick him with Thornton, and the Sharks have needed one more top 2 d-man for a few years now. Boyle-Murray is not good enough to be matched up against teams top lines. Boyle-Staal/Suter and they'd probably have at least a Finals appearance by now.

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

I hate the Flyers and the Rangers. I'll be rooting for an alien attack or freak accident that wipes out both teams and their fanbases.

I'd so much rather see NYR/NYI... that could get interesting from the fan perspective... on the other hand, you'd have to deal with Wang. Sadly, with NBC its markets markets markets and always will be.

The Wild will trade you Cam Barker for Setoguchi straight up. :D

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

Uh..no, anyway. How about Burns?
If San Jose offers a draft pick as well, that trade would be reasonable. Burns is supposedly available if the right type of offer is made, and MN's need at forward is glaringly obvious.

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

If a team offers decent picks and prospects, no one on the Wild should be off limits.

I'm not gonna get on NBC for picking teams with large followings. I don't like the fact that Pittsburgh has already played in two of them though. NBC is only gonna show American teams--last thing anyone wants to see is Florida-Carolina. Throw in that you can't have one of these games down south and the pool of teams that might host is limited.

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

Other home games have been leaked.

The Bruins open at home with the Flyers on 10.6.11.

Detroit plays at Ottawa I believe (I know that the teams are right, not sure if it is at Ottawa or Detroit; I believe Ottawa).

Edit: It's Ottawa at Detroit.

Also, Bettman is looking at a fairly radical realignment plan for next year:

2 divisions in each conference, with 7 teams in one conference and 8 teams in the other, with the top 4 in each division making the playoffs.

Do not like.
