Not surprising. I already watched bowl games over the Winter Classic last year. Looks like I'll be continuing that.

I only did that because of the Crosby slurpfest. I might be able to tune in and root against the Flyers (which is what NBC is counting on us neutral hockey fans to do :o).

The NHL should highlight the Kings/Sharks and Panthers/Lightning rivalries with outdoor games.

Kings/Ducks from The Coliseum? Except that darn thing called the Rose Bowl. I would suggest Lightning vs. Panthers from South Beach, but that might be unavailable due to beach volleyball.

I hate the Flyers and the Rangers. I'll be rooting for an alien attack or freak accident that wipes out both teams and their fanbases.

I dunno if this was ever posted, so forgive me if it has. Bruins celebration with no commentary, so just the on ice audio. Pretty cool stuff.

Winter Classic is going to be Rangers at Flyers, Jan 2nd at Citizen's Bank Park, according to the New York Times.
One of the best rivalries in the NHL and the biggest and fourth-biggest media markets in the country. This matchup is such a no-brainer that I probably shouldn't be surprised it took Bettman and company five years to come up with it.

I love Thomas after he gets the Conn Smythe, he's got no idea what to do with the thing

"Do I leave it here?"

edit: and the clearly audible f-bombs number in the double digits

Can't say I blame him, but wow, Perry sounded incredibly nervous.

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

Lidstrom gets his 7th Lidstrom Trophy.

Skinner wins the Calder, saving the Sharks about $700,000 on next year's cap.

Hindsight is 20/20 but I can't help but think what if...what if the Bruins drafted Logan Couture instead of Zach Hamill.

I go back to 2003 and the Sharks trading up to draft Michalek and Nashville taking Suter next and 2005 when they traded up to draft Setoguchi and New York took Staal with the Sharks pick.
