Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

It's funny the parade commentators think Boston is the only city to hold championship parades. Hell, Binghamton held one for the AHL championship.

Most cities have parades, Boston has the Rolling Rally :p

Claude Julien:

"On a personal note, I would like to thank Terry Francona (Red Sox), Bill Belichick (Patriots) and Doc Rivers (Celtics) for the support they've given me personally throughout these playoffs," Julien said as Copley erupted. "Even before winning a championship they made me feel like I was part of their group. But now at least with a championship you really feel like you belong."

Aw, that made me smile.

I thought the double decker busses worked well in Chicago.
Double deckers tend to be used a lot in Europe for celebrations, that or the go out on the balcony and show off the trophy while the city parties in the square.

Gotta say. It's been a wonderful spring for hockey.

March: Duluth East advances to state championship game, falling to Eden Prairie in a heartbreaker.
April: tUMD wins school's first ever Men's Division I national championship at tX. I was there. Was greatest time of life.
June: Watched as Bruins win first Stanley Cup in my lifetime. Was second greatest time of life.

Scarlet - you got a picture of Colin Wilson and didn't recognize him?! Pretty sure he's in the 3rd to last picture: the blonde in the yellow hat.

For those not aware, Colin Wilson was on the 2009 BU National Championship team and is on the Predators. He and Colby Cohen (also on 2009 BU Championship team and technically on the playoff roster for the 2011 Bruins) are good friends. Pretty sure that's him on the duckboat.

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

Spot secured at the Boylston/Clarendon St. Intersection. It was packed at 8:30 this morning. Two hours plus till it passes by here.

I was near the corner of Tremont and Boylston...across the street from Barnes and Noble at Emerson College.

My train arrived around 830 in Boston, and North Station was PACKED. I decided to avoid using the T and walked from North Station to the Commons/Park St. Just an amazing day and I was in the first row at the barrier and got to see the cup held by Rechhi and then Campbell. It was just really amazing. Something I'll never forget.

'ewe- was that him? It doesn't look like him. Someone I knew got a picture of Colby. Where are your pics????

:P Sorry to feed your peeve. When I got to the Boylston side of the Common it was a lot thinner than by the Park St part of the Common. I guess I got there early enough to beat the insaneness that far down.

It does look a bit like him, but I'd be ****ed if a player on my team was in the Stanley Cup parade for another team wearing their gear. So, I doubt that's him.

I learned my lesson and always call it the "Common" now after a reprimand from Scarlet a few years ago! :D :p

I thought it was him (It looks like his picture from the Nashville page). I just posted my pix on facebook. We were just up from Gov't Center (across from 18 Tremont - near the Pressed sandwich place). It was only a few deep where we were, but nuts other places.

This was my thought, but it looked enough like him that it did make me curious.
