2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

This bullpen is worse than a joke, it's an embarrassment and someone needs to lose their job.

What did we expect? Where are Fuentes, Guerrier, Rauch, Crain(although I hated his guts, he had a good season last year) the management can't expect to lose 4 key components to the AL's best bullpen and expect to have a successful one?

This is so frustrating. We can't even win when we put up SEVEN!!!

Fuentes is 1-6 with a 4.71 in Oakland
Guerrier has a 3.42 for LA
Rauch has a 4.00 for Toronto
Only Crain's 2.45 is lower than what any of them had last year with the Twins.
Yes the bullpen was likely going to be worse than last year, but this is minor league level pitching on a big league team.

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

New Plan: Don't let the bullpen pitch.

Lets see if this actually works.

edit: Yes it does.
I like the "huh, I guess a pitcher's arm won't fall off after the 110th pitch of the night" look on Gardy's and Anderson's face right before the last out. Morans.

Are games at Target still full?
If people are still paying to watch these choke jobs, I'm sorry but they're stupid.

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

Anybody even care anymore?
Apparently they got screwed a little today.

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

What the EFF is Plouffe doing out there? First he doesn't attack a grounder and double-clutches to result with no out, then he waits for a lazy liner to land before playing it.

You can't spell "Trevor Plouffe" without two Es. :)

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

Time to start selling off the pieces of this team. Off the top of my head the most obvious players to trade are Kubel and Cuddyer, and they should have some value for a team in the playoff run, though they may be more valuable if we keep them until the deadline. Is there even anyone else on the roster that the Twins could get some prospects for?

Perkins? He was pretty good before the injury, so maybe if he continues to be solid when he gets back, he could provide bullpen help to some team.
Slowey? Get rid of him if the can, but I'm guessing all they can get at this point is a tin of Skoal.
Casilla? See Slowey, above.
Duensing, Blackburn, Baker, Liriano, Pavano? If anyone wants them, trade them.

Blow the whole thing up, the only ones that are untouchable are the Glass Catcher, and that is because of the NTC, and prospects like Hicks, Revere and Gibson. Its time to restock the farm a bit, if they can.

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

The two most obvious candidates to be traded are Pavano and Cuddyer. Overpaying for mediocrity is not the way to maintain a winning organization. Unfortunately, I don't see MN getting much in return for them.

They might get more for Liriano, provided he gets his **** together and has a run of decent starts heading into the AS break.

I think Kubel would be the most likely, just because he is the only guy on the team that hasn't sucked, so other teams may actually be willing to give up some good prospects for him. Though, what I've read is that he is projected to be an A type free agent, so whoever the Twins get for him would have to be greater than the 2 draft picks they get in next years draft as compensation.

If Liriano actually does get his **** together, get rid of him ASAP. Its time to hand him off to someone else to deal with.

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

It is nice to see Morneau's bat come alive a little bit, 2 dingers in this one. He gave the Twins the lead just in time for the bullpen to give it back!

Best move of the offseason that Bill Smith made: Not signing Delmonsy to a long term contract

Depends on how long Liriano remains on the DL.
The blowing up needs to start with Bill Smith before any player.
I wouldn't trust that man to make good trades even if he were handed another teams top player and prospect.

I say take the two draft picks. That would've been the best option with Santana once upon a time.

The best option with Santana would have been to not be stupid and take the Red Sox offer when it was on the table.

That assumes there was in fact an offer. I don't really trust the rumor-based reporting that happens these days. Until a deal is actually made, it's all speculative - and all sorts of crap can be thrown out there for different reasons (i.e. to drive up the price of acquiring a player if a rival is involved in the potential trade talk).

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

So fans voting for players who aren't even in the lineup as normal for the All-Star Game.

CATCHER (June 1st)
Russell Martin, Yankees: 843,459
Joe Mauer, Twins: 593,949
Alex Avila, Tigers: 407,463
Carlos Santana, Indians: 395,892
Yorvit Torrealba, Rangers: 337,737

I'm mildly surprised that Gardy didn't take Casilla's bat and clunk him over the head with it. Bunting on 0-2 in the 9th? Really?

I got an email from the Twins, reminding me to go online and vote for Twins players for the All Star Game. Ha, yeah right. I'm not voting for a single one of these bums, they don't deserve to go to the all star game, and they don't deserve time off over the all star break either. They should spend that time practicing, god knows every single one of them needs it.
