2011 Division III Commitments

Re: 2011 Division III Commitments

is the website going to track this info again this year? Link?

USCHO did not track them last year.

The efforts to track them were made by two posters on here with CardsRuletheBurgh and Matthew Webb.

Since the rise of D3westhockey.com, I doubt Mr. Webb will be compiling a list on here. He might give us a link off a D3westhockey.com though if he does the same thing this year.

A little birdie told me that those two posters might have something going in the not-terribly-distant future, and that birdie agrees with your guess that it will be hosted at a D3WH address. ;)

That's exactly what Prez and I were talking about.

That's a project Matt Webb started about 5 years ago. (I think?) It originally just listed West Region commitments, until last year when I offered to help out with expanding to include the East Region. My name is Nate LePage (as can be seen in the line below "CARDS_rule_the_Burgh"), and I am the other person listed there.

Anyway, like I told Derek: It shouldn't be too long now until this season's version of "the list" gets up and running. If you keep an eye on this thread, you will know when it's there.

Roget that. Good work last year. Loved the list and I shared it with my network

Re: 2011 Division III Commitments

According to Platty's theory, Oswego doesn't need to recruit in D III anymore. :D We can just get kids from DI programs.

Re: 2011 Division III Commitments

:confused:There is no such thing as a D III commitment. It's like getting ice in the wintertime. It's why there is so much turnover in these programs. They can have a new team every year. Nothing invested so there is no loyalty.

No, there is no 100% guarantee that any of these players will end up playing college hockey, let alone at the associated team. However, but compiling all of the names that have been reported as committing to a school (that is to say, been accepted and paid the commitment deposit), we can at least have SOME idea of what the teams will look like next season. It's the off-season, please let us have this one DIII hockey-related thing to talk about between now and fall. :)

Re: 2011 Division III Commitments

As long as we aren't breaking rules, (which certain fans will always accuse us of) I don't care where we get them as long as we win.

We opened our doors and the transfers kept a comin'
There were too many, so we had to let them go
We opened our doors and the transfers kept a comin'
Across the Great Lakes to the town of 'wego!

Old hick'ry said we could take 'um by surprise
If we didn't tell a soul till the D1 guys arrived
So we held our news till they dotted all the i's
The we loaded up our slap shots and really gave 'um well...

We looked down the thread and where we see'd the recruits come.
And there must have been a hundred of'em beatin' on the drum.
Their stats so high and they made the fans sing.
Many stood by their keyboards and didn't say a thing.

some guys just want to kill the fun and the question of will the player show up to the school or not, I think Oswego had a few guys who didnt show up off your list which is part of THIS process, not d1........and as for the d1 trasfers that d3 schools get more power to'em and im sure most of the transfers had been recruit by the d3 team before they went to the d1 team
