Re: $ > all

Re: $ > all

I believe he is referring to the Atlantic Hockey Association, and he is correct from what I always hear -- they are not allowed to play a D3 school. It's a conference rule.

Once again, it's all RIT's fault.

That's too bad because an Army/Norwich game would be incredible to be a part of.

Re: $ > all

Re: $ > all

I think that is a pretty arrogant attitude, why is it that the low major among the DI conferences doesn't allow games against DIII teams, but the mid major conference does?
It's analogous to the ex-neighbor who moved into a better neighborhood, who won't acknowledge you in the store, but the CEO of the company stops and chats with you for half an hour. It's all about perception. Those who don't need affirmation will stoop, those who are seeking credibility believe that stooping somehow sullies their status simply by association. Asinine.

I'm sure they would give you some "it doesn't fit in with our institutions academic beliefs" when it’s really "we are struggling to be known as a perennial conference in DI and couldn't afford a loss to a lowly DIII school". I’d have to go back, but isn’t Oswego’s win over RIT in the last DIII win over a DI? Yes I know they weren’t full DI at the time, but played a majority DI schedule.

I believe this is correct.

The only D-III/D-I crossover games I can even recall happening since then were the Princeton/Morrisville games the last two seasons. Other than that, I don't believe there has been any.

It's ironic that the AHA is the D1 conference whose members are the most vulnerable to dropping a game or two against elite D3 competition...

Re: Player Beware!

Anyone know who the other three teams are in the Pathfinder this year?

I feel like I remember hearing something about Adrian heading back to Oswego this year for this tournament.

From the 'Gonian article...

After a few weeks off for winter break, the Lakers return to the Campus Center Ice Arena for the annual Pathfinder Bank Hockey Classic starting Friday, Dec. 30. This year's invitees to Oswego State's tournament are Connecticut College, Hamline College and Neumann College. Both Hamline and Neumann appeared in this year's NCAA Tournament. The Lakers will play Connecticut College at 7 p.m., while Hamline and Neumann will play at 4 p.m. The two winners and losers will play one another Saturday, Dec. 31.

Thanks mike. Decent field. Hamline lost a few of their studs tho. Conn. College isn't too strong but Neumann should be strong again.

Re: Player Beware!

I don't know if anyone posted it, but the Oswegonian released an article back before the school year let out with details of next year's OSU Hockey schedule... I put it in table form on our WNYO Sports site: http://sites.google.com/site/wnyosports889/directory/calendar to make it easier to read.
looks like the basic deal for oz, nothing out of the ordinary but still no exhibition game, any ideas on that maybe Penn State??

Maybe working on the US 18U Team again? That was one of the best games I've ever seen at the CC back in October 2008.

Penn State posted their schedule a while ago. 2 NCAA games: @ Neumann and vs. Fredonia (yes, a home game for the Icers)
