2011-12 Schedules

Re: 2011-12 Schedules

Skidmore 2011-2012
http://www.skidmoreathletics.com/schedule.aspx?path=mhockey

Featuring
ECEC-East: 18 games
OOC:
Potsdam twice, Plattsburgh, Middlebury, Williams and what is believed to be their Thanksgiving opponent Nichols and Hamilton/Brockport

Good Luck Thoroughbreds

So the Middlebury Tournament is a fixed schedule tournament.

Interesting that Potsdam and Skidmore "agreed" to play each other there when they meet again five days later.

Re: 2011-12 Schedules

Speaking of which Hockey season kicks off tomrrow when Utica plays Landshut Cannibals in Munich Germany! And No, these games do not count in the FHL

Per livestats - UC 4 - Landshut 3 with 2:00 to go in the 3rd. Dang, Its HOCKEY!!!!!!!!

The Skidmore v. Nichols, Hamilton v. Brockport Thanksgiving games are listed on the Brockport schedule. Mr. Jaslow, why are 2 Skidmore v. Potsdam games interesting? With limited OoC games why would either play a team twice? Is one team superior? Is this a harbinger of future conference play, does a NY DIII conference emerge in 2 years, with the SUNYs adding Hobart, Skidmore, M'ville, Utica, Elmira, Neumann and the new SUNYs that are in the pipeline, create 2 divisions? The ECAC-East teams can join one of the other DIII leagues. This may be another thread but may be relevant to your answer. Thank you for your (or any other) reply.

Seems to me scheduling the Skidmore vs. Potsdam game in Middlebury is more a function of who Middlebury wanted to play that weekend. I'm sure that both Potty and Skids would have preferred a traditional tournament or not playing each other twice.

I think you may have misunderstood Mr. Jaslow's use of the word "interesting." I would guess you have summarized his thoughts on this in your 2nd sentence. Why indeed!

ECAC-W teams play each other 3 times, excuse me for asking, are all these league games?

Yes all the ECAC West teams play each other three times and all three games count toward the league standings.

We'll see if they decide to keep the three games format next year with the addition of Nazareth. My guess is yes.

Sorry, just learning. Buffalo State plays Johnson and Wales x2 and Hobart X2; Manhattanville plays Curry x2; Morrisville plays Neumann x2 and Elmira x2 maybe a 3rd in a tournament 2nd game; Brockport plays Nichols x2 and Neumann x2; Oswego plays Utica x2; Plattsburgh plays Norwich x2 and Castleton maybe twice in a 2nd tournament game; and I am sure there are others, I apologize knowing Mr. Jaslow is well versed in D III hockey as to his comment that Skid v. Potsdam is interesting, any more than these games?

And for those uninitiated, as I am, the NCHA teams play each other 3 times and the MCHA teams may play another league team twice or four times. So how does the NCAA make a tournament? Oh I guess it is easier now that the interlock is over.

I appreciate the insight.

Reading WAY to much into this... It has more to do with that fact that USM and Skidmore didn't want to play each other 3 times in a year(unless they meet in the playoffs).....

I mean Elmira and Neumann played each other six times during the 2008-09 season.

Three ECAC West games, met in Times Argus Tournament consolation at Norwich, met in ECAC West semifinals and NCAA Tournament First Round.

Elmira was 3-0-1 in the games that didn't matter :o

two years ago when they still had LVC they had the three game format. so unless they can get another team to come next year as well(unlikely) then in most likelihood it will stay that way.

Stevenson University (Baltimore) is starting a D-III women's team (12-13) and (eventually) a men's team.

Re: 2011-12 Schedules

If opening night is as entertaining as last year, we're in for a treat. Sorry I can't be there. Will it be streamed?
At the bare minimum we'll have live stats. We're working on the streaming end of it and I anticipate that it will be.
