2011-12 MN Gophers Season Thread Pt II: Still Full Of Pride!

Re: 2011-12 MN Gophers Season Thread Pt II: Still Full Of Pride!

I actually shot a 78 at Hawktree in Bismarck last week, it was a beautiful game and a beautiful day. Try getting off the couch for more than a cigarette and you golf or god forbid, attend a game in person.

Hm, I have. Keep up your obsession with me, though. It's amusing.

Still, you're shooting a little high for how much offseason you've had already.

You couldn't shoot 78 on a mini-golf course. I'm sorry your season is over, god knows you don't have anything else to live for.

Wrong again. I've shot a 60 on a legit par 72 course before (real grass, no windmills or any of that cheap circus crap). Keep digging, son. You're only up to your eyes in BS. :p

Congrats to the Gophers on a great season! I know the game was a lot closer than the final score and if you can keep most of your guys next year you will be even better with a years more experience under your belts. If BC wins on Saturday the Alliance will have a combined 10 National Titles! ;)

Excellent season Gophers. Ends like this make winning the last game of the year so much sweeter. Here's to next season and another run at title #6

60? What course, Brent? (look of utter, complete, and total disbelief)

I'm sure hammering balls fairway to fairway is golf to you, try shooting under 80 at the Edina CC or anything not municipal. Also, try using a score from the current decade. Son? Not unless I'm crosseyed and mentally turned by second hand smoke or FAS

The one by Southdale (?) in Edina. They have lawn bowling too. Nice course. Some friends of mine and I used to mini-golf quite a bit. Even had a "Masters" with 4 courses in two days. The Southdale, Spring Lake Park Amusement (expert course, easily the toughest course in the Cities), Dred Scott, and (sigh) Lilliputt in Coon Rapids.

Hockey sticks on the greens?

Hockey sticks on the greens?

I may have done that at one point. Same with a "billiards" shot, due to the angle/closeness to the wall of the hole. ;)

If the actions of your team showed any pride I failed to see it.....they were outplayed in EVERY aspect of the game and then the dirt started to fly.....what a horrid display of sportsmanship, they should be ashamed of their hockey and their play

Re: 2011-12 MN Gophers Season Thread Pt II: Still Full Of Pride!

Sucks to get schooled by York's team, but they have something special going there under him.

But congrats to the Gophers for putting it together this year. Really quite a nice year for the team, and I'm sure some good memories for you guys.

Next year should be exciting too. Last year to exchange insults and lies as conference foes, and I'm going to miss that.

Great year by this young Gopher squad, MacNaughton cup, Frozen Four, nothing to hang our heads over.

If they can keep the team mostly intact next year and add to that the incoming Freshman I think we will be just fine next year.

Grats Gophers on a great year!

Go away, nothing ever good has come out of RI anyway.

Re: 2011-12 MN Gophers Season Thread Pt II: Still Full Of Pride!

Summary: BC brought their A game and the Gophers brought their hairdryers. A big key to the win for BC was Milner's excellent stops on some good scoring chances early to avert a potential lead for the Gophers. If Matson hits the open net maybe this could have been a game. As it turned out, the Gopher players that were "expected" to show up (Bjugstad, Rau, Haula, Schmidt, etc.) were invisible tonight while BC executed their transition game with precision. Nice to have Gary "Thor-nee" back in his usual baffoon fashion mispronouncing nearly every Gopher players name...what a clown of an announcer.

Nevertheless, the Gophers surpassed all expectations as a team this season and have nothing to hang their heads about. Few if any, picked them to win the Mac, not to mention making it to the Frozen Four which was a breath of fresh air compared to the last 3 seasons. A big thank you to the seniors (Matson, Sacchetti, Hansen, Patterson, Kremer, Miller, Larson) after enduring 3 "seasons from hell", who believed they could get better and helped turned the team around this year with a lot of hard work and team play. This may be the last we see of Bjugs, and maybe Haula. Both had breakout seasons and they will be missed if they decide to go pro.
