2011-12 MN Gophers Season Thread Pt II: Still Full Of Pride!

Re: 2011-12 MN Gophers Season Thread Pt II: Still Full Of Pride!

All non fans of Big Ten schools are really going to miss this thread. All of them will not know what to do with themselves without Minnesota.

Is the gopher_wes here the same person that is on the same handle on GPL?

Re: 2011-12 MN Gophers Season Thread Pt II: Still Full Of Pride!

Erik Haula, "the Finish-er" has been one of the Gophers most prolific scorers and a key player to their success this season. Erik has been nothing short of awesome in the postseason (team-leading 10 points (5-5-10) in five postseason games).

As Haula goes, it seems, Minnesota goes... Haula went on a tear to begin his second season by putting up 17 points (7-10-17) in the season's first seven games. In addition, he has 20 points (10-10-20) in his last 15 dating to a late-January series against St. Cloud State...

In between, though, came a 20-game, 11-point drought for Haula, and the Gophers suffered the effects in going just 11-8-1 (.575) in that time frame...

"Erik got off to a great start and then in the middle of the year he kind of cooled and our team kind of cooled", said Minnesota coach Don Lucia, whose team is 12-1-1 (.893) this season when Haula scores a goal...

His Dad flying in from Finland for the Frozen Four reminded me of a few years back when Thomas Vanek's Dad flew in from Austria to see his son win it all and become the 2003 Frozen Four's Most Outstanding Player. Erik is also locked and loaded and is expected to tickle the twine against a hot BC goalie, junior Parker Milner (1.70 GAA/.935 S%). Read the entire article > HERE. Go Gophers!

A little more than 5 days to go before the puck drops in Tampa. The jerseys are ready (Photo courtesy of Golden Gopher Hockey).

Haula "expected" to tickle the twine...now you've done it!!! The audacity...how dare you disrespect BC like that!
