Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs IV: "The game puck just got Prongered"

Detroit takes Sheahan, who should eventually fit nicely if he's the two-way player everyone seems to think he is.

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs IV: "The game puck just got Prongered"

Nice McKenzie. "Montreal could tell him to go to Juniors, just like Detroit could tell Sheahan."

Thanks, you buttplug.

If there is a guy you'd expect to tout the college route, it would be Bobby Mac.

That being said, Montreal's college kids usually stay there. Some forever (cough, David Fischer, cough).

Why can't he say that? Sure, we don't like it, but that's the reality of it.

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs IV: "The game puck just got Prongered"

Sharks draft a guy who gets described as a future "depth" player with the 1st round pick. Now I know why they trade them so often.

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs IV: "The game puck just got Prongered"

Ugh. Fellow Detroit fans already playing armchair GM and saying Kenny farked up.

And those are the same booger-eaters who are going to cry holy hell when we don't re-sign Kirk Maltby, who hasn't had anything left for at least 2 years.

Surprisingly, the general sentiment appears to be that Maltby is pretty useless now (which is correct), so it seems the tears and fist pounding will occur if Kenny gives him another year.

Hamhuis has his rights traded *again* according to Lebrun. To Pittsburgh for a 3rd rounder next year.

Then just wait until they break off Draper.

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs IV: "The game puck just got Prongered"

Apparently the player that Vancouver was going to take at 25 was going to be Jarred Tinordi. With him gone, the trade with Florida went through.

Also, from Darcy Regeir:

There were a lot of conversations over the last few days about players being moved, and it didn’t happen," Regier said following Round One in Staples Center. " Maybe the ask was too high. Teams in some cases were looking for first-round picks for players that everyone knows they’re either in a cap situation, they’re in a tough spot, and I think it’s good they didn’t get off the hook by collecting a bunch of first-round picks."

Stupid, stupid Thrashers.

Perhaps the first player from the EJ to go in the first round? From CBC:

Charlie Coyle, F. South Shore. Big winger, Coyle is considered a project. Coyle's a good skater who protects the puck well. The cousin of Tony Amonte, Coyle will head to Boston University next year.

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs IV: "The game puck just got Prongered"

Lots of chatter about Philadelphia picking up the rights to Nabokov today.

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs IV: "The game puck just got Prongered"

Um....Wallin signed a one year deal with the Sharks for 2.5M.

Horrible. Awful. Makes Huskins contract look **** cheap. Holy crap is that bad. That better be a 3 year deal.

Go Kings if it's not.
